Huge shortage of children’s care homes in South Africa leads to abuse, reports Carte Blanche tv April 2014:

AbusedChildrenSafeHavenJedediahAbusesChildrenHartbeespoortApr2014

Jedidiah Children’s home, the only place of safety in the entire Brits region, where child-victims of domestic violence were referred to by the law courts, was forced to close its doors.

The children were taken away to an unknown place by social workers. Carte Blanche video showed abusive behaviour by its Afrikaans manageress.April 2014:

Kidnappings of children are censored by SAPS and by charities in South Africa:

Afrikaner Children also are targetted by sadistic black–racists:

AfrikanerGrandmomAndChildTorturedLouisTrichardtPetroWeyersAndChany6Feb62014

Above: 6-year-old Chaney was lucky to be alive after black-racist attackers in Louis Trichardt tried to strangle the child and her grandmother to death. The two were attacked and tortured on February 6 2014 in Mrs Weyer’s apartment in the high-security Kitmet complex in Anderson Street, just one week before the grandmother’s 66th birthday. A journalist from the Zoutpansberger newspaper described how Mrs Weyers, still coated in blood and in shock, described their night of terror. ‘It was difficult to ignore the blue bruises on the child’s little face and the thick, red finger-marks around her little neck where the black male attacker had strangled the little girl, writes the journalist. http://www.zoutpansberger.co.za/details/14-02-2014-vir-dood-gelos/23371

Afrikaner children also are greatly endangered by the filthy cholera-infested water in internal refugee camps:

https://www.facebook.com/refugeecampssouthafrica

Thousands of Afrikaner children’s lives are also endangered each day by the increasingly desperate conditions in ‘white’ squatter camps.  It is estimated that at least 1million of the 3,4 million Afrikaners in South Africa – refused access to the job market by more than 100 anti-white ANC-laws – now have no homes, nor any source of income and are forced to live in derelict sites. Often these families only get one meal a week or even less. Recently a muslim charity was alerted to the widespread hunger among Afrikaner miners in Rustenburg, and rushed to their aid.

Murderer Robert McBride’s killer-bomb exploded 28 years ago

Murderer Robert McBride's killer-bomb exploded 28 years ago

June 14 2014 - South Africa. Yet murderer Robert McBride, responsible for killing 3 innocent women and maiming 71 other people, now is the head of South Africa's
police-watchdog agency, the 'Independent Police Investigative Directorate'.

Pretoria. On June 14 1986, 28 years ago, Robert McBride – now the newly appointed head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate -- planted
one of his bombs – later ruled ‘crimes against humanity’ by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission -- at the MacGoo Bar in Durban, killing 3 people and injuring 71.   He also planted a bomb in January that year at the Brighton sub-station in Zululand.

25 years ago it was reported that one of McBride's injured victims, ex-cop Rudi van der Merwe,  has somehow battled on after he was maimed by the Brighton substation-bomb.

McBrideRobertVictimRudiVdMerweBrixtonSubstationBombJan1986BadlyBurnt

Three years ago, AfriForum paid homage to the civilian bombing victims of ANC-murderer Robert Mc Bride’s Magoo Bar's bomb 25 years ago in Durban – which the Truth and Reconciliation commission ruled was ‘a gross violation of human rights’.

McBride’s bomb – for which he was given amnesty – dispelled the myth that the ‘ANC-struggle was noble and innocent?…’
Three civilian women died in the bombings and 71 civilians were injured.  The Truth and Reconciliation Commission ruled that these had been a gross violation of human rights.
"Few, if any, of the victims were members of the security forces."
http://www.doj.gov.za/trc/

McBride can be legally referred to as ‘a murderer- court ruling.

The Constitutional Court also ruled three years ago that McBride may be legally referred to as 'a murderer' even though he had 'received amnesty'.

  • To summarise: Robert McBride, who now is the head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, is officially a 'Murderer'.
  • Afriforum forum said in a statement 3 years ago on the 25th anniversary of the bomb:
"We don't approve of the history of young Afrikaners being criminalised, while the history of the ANC is romanticised."

ANC ‘struggle’ was neither noble, nor innocent: Afriforum:

Afriforum’s Charl Oberholtzer said at the time that ‘it remains important to commemorate the bombing which took place during the run-up to 'youth day' -- to dispel the myth that
the ANC' struggle was entirely noble and innocent.

"Our thoughts are with the next of kin of those victims who died and the 71 innocent victims who were injured in the blast," Oberholzer said.

Victim Lorraine de la Rosa: “I don’t think that man has any remorse. I think he’s a very violent person:”

McBrideRobertVictimDeLaRosaMercuryInterviewHeHasNoremorseJune141986Bomb

Above: Lorraine de la Rosa, victim of Robert McBride’s Magoo Bar bombing June 14, 1986 was quoted by Bronwyn Fourie of the Natal Mercury three years ago as saying:
"I don’t think that man has any remorse. I think he’s a violent person’ … She was one of the 71 injured victims of Robert McBride's MacGoo bar bomb:
“ On June 14, 1986, staring out of the Why Not restaurant window with her freshly made Irish coffee, 33-year-old Lorraine de la Rosa watched as a man "fiddled in his car". It was a Saturday night. Unbeknown to her it was Robert McBride, the ‘mastermind’ behind the infamous car bomb. A short while later it would tear through Why Not and the neighbouring Magoo's Bar, killing three people, injuring (69) more, and blowing off her stomach. "It was close to 10pm. We had all been to rugby, and there was always a nice atmosphere… I was looking out of the window, watching the man, and then saw another car quickly pull off. The man then ran away from the car and not long after that, as I was about to take a sip of my Irish coffee, the bomb went off."

Immediately after the explosion there was dead silence and then the screams of fear. She ran out of the restaurant, collapsing near the Edward Hotel. "Army guys who arrived to assist asked me what was wrong. I said that I did not know. But I was bleeding, and when they lifted my shirt, they saw that my stomach had been blown away."After three operations, including plastic surgery reconstruction on her stomach, and seven months in hospital, De La Rosa was finally discharged from hospital. She returned to her Wild Coast restaurant and coffee shop, only to find that the business had collapsed during her absence. It would take a Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearing, and many years of resentment and fear before De La Rosa would be able to put the incident behind her. "We went through hell with the TRC," she said."It was very emotional and we had to hear a lot of terrible things from both sides. We met Robert McBride and got to shake his hand. But he was not a remorseful person. He said to me that when the guys put on their uniforms, they were the enemy. But back then going to army was compulsory. Our young men had no choice." De La Rosa sighs: "I can't believe it's been 25 years… I don't think that man has any remorse. I think he's a violent person."http://www.themercury.co.za/magoo-s-bombing-part-two-1.1083619

Race Relations Institute blames ANC racist laws for babies dying of cholera

“Stand up to the tyranny of political correctness and tell the truth: “

June 23 2014: Frans Cronjé of the Institute of Race Relations in South Africa  links babies dying of cholera due to filthy drinking water, to the ANC-regime's racist hiring laws

BEEblackRacistHiringLawsLinkedToBabyDeathsByIRRfransCronjeJune2014articlePoliticsWeb

-- Frans Cronjé writes:
"On 15 June 1973 the Financial Mail published an article on mass population removals in pursuit of the 'apartheid' policy of separate development.
Written by John Kane-Berman, and based on South African Institute of Race Relations research, the article drew a direct connection between
these removals and kwashiorkor and other diseases of deprivation.
-- The article was illustrated by a colour photograph of a dying baby on the front cover. It was designed to shock and it did.

The economic adviser to Prime Minister John Vorster wrote a letter accusing the Financial Mail of faking the photograph.
-- But the photograph had been taken in the Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital near Nqutu in what is now KwaZulu-Natal.
-- An offer was made to take the economic adviser and relevant ministers and officials to see for themselves both the babies in the cots and
the dumping grounds surrounding the hospital. The visit never materialised, and both the Financial Mail and the IRR continued to expose the consequences of forced removals until that policy was eventually abandoned.

Bloemhof babies dying of cholera:
Last week, the IRR again pointed to a connection between policies and dying children - that between race-based affirmative action and government incompetence. Again, demands were been made for ‘evidence'. Some of the most compelling comes from the government and the ruling party.
In 2009 the then ANC treasurer general, Matthews Phosa lamented that local government was ‘now in ICU' because of the mistakes the government had made on affirmative action. In 2011, the then minister of co-operative governance, Sicelo Shiceka, said local authorities were widely seen as ‘incompetent, disorganised, uninterested'. President Jacob Zuma has described the public service as ‘lazy and incompetent'.
However, to say the Bloemhof babies died because of ‘incompetence' is not enough. There is no dispute that the racist policies of apartheid require redress. Nor is there any dispute that black people suffered material disadvantage because of their race. However, race is a double-edged sword. The powerful emotions conjured up around race make it the perfect cover behind which to hide malfeasance. Hence, politicians abuse affirmative-action policy to justify totally inappropriate appointments in the name of ‘racial transformation'

South Africa has a very corrupt government:
Our critics counter that the policy must simply be implemented properly. This is naïve.
We have a very corrupt government - and if you give it the power to hide its malfeasance and damaging ideology behind ‘racial transformation', it will do so. You cannot therefore divorce the policy from its consequences, even where these are unintentional or arise from abuse.

Unqualified people appointed in the hope that they will 'learn on the job'...
Proponents of the policy must also stop repeating the ill-informed assertion that South Africa's affirmative action policy is designed to pick the blacker of two equally qualified candidates.
-- Rather the current policy expressly envisages that officials should be appointed, not for their existing knowledge and experience, but rather
for their potential to ‘acquire the ability' to do their jobs in the future. It thus explicitly allows the selection of unqualified people - and this is simply not fair to the poor communities which pay the consequences.

Ignorance of BEE-laws' consequences:
The extent of popular ignorance over the policy and its consequences was illustrated last week when a prominent journalist sketched
the scenario of two equally qualified engineers competing for a job. One was private-school educated and the other township-school educated.
The journalist said that, since they were equally qualified as engineers, the township educated engineer would get the job - and that this was a fair and good policy for South Africa. But this is to misunderstand the policy as it is applied in South Africa.

ANC-regime will leave critical posts unfilled rather than appoint whites:
It is also to ignore that in South Africa the government will often leave a critical post unfilled rather than accept a white candidate.  Such errors are compounded still further by assuming that all private school graduates are white, when this is incorrect. In fact, under the current law, a poor white student who manages to graduate as an engineer against great odds will be overlooked in favor of a black private school educated engineer from a rich family.

"In any event South Africa has such a great shortage of engineers, especially in the public sector, that any qualified engineer should be snapped up regardless of race.
Finally, should a white private school educated engineer want to apply his skills to the upliftment of a desperately poor rural municipality with failing infrastructure, it is not for the law - or media commentators - to decide that the people of that municipality are not entitled to have him.

But to center this debate around ‘the whites' is wrong - it is not about them - and on this we have been very clear.  (Official) white unemployment sits at around 6% - making it nonsense to suggest that whites want to ‘take our [ie black] jobs'.
-- Ironically, the current model of affirmative action has proved particularly effective at empowering whites by pushing them into entrepreneurship (as the IRR has previously pointed out). (…)

Our critique of current affirmative action policy is built on examples where the victims of such policy are black. Accusations that the critique is “racist” ignore this. Just as erroneous is the idea of that we are trying to stop black advancement - if nothing else, this would entirely undermine the model of a growth-led market economy which the IRR has been advocating for decades. Absurd too is the disingenuous suggestion that our critique of affirmative action is an attack on the competence of black people.

The IRR's sustained and brave opposition to apartheid policy rested on the obvious point that there is there is nothing inherent in people's race that determines their abilities. Only our critics draw the offensive connection between race and competency. Nor does our critique seek to deny the socio-economic progress that has been made since 1994. Rather, our concern is that too many people remain victims of a cruel and uncaring system - without which even more could have been achieved.
That the accusation of racism has been thrown about so freely merely confirms our thesis that the racial basis of the policy is exploited to cover up its abuse. In many cases, probing questions should rather be asked about our critics' commitment to ‘social justice' when they vilify policy alternatives while knowing full well the price poor people pay for the status quo. What sort of inhumanity causes a person to heap vile and racist abuse upon an idea to improve the lives of poor people?
The extent of their vilification suggests they know we are right, but are struggling to make peace with this because they find it just too discomforting. Too often these critics are people whose own children are unlikely ever to be exposed to toxic water or incompetent public hospitals.
It was telling that the government itself did not come after us last week, but felt confident to leave that hatchet job to various people in civil society and the media. This is a bad omen in a country where the stranglehold of political correctness and strict self-censorship now poses a major threat to freedom. The American academic, Noam Chomsky, summed this up in saying, "The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum....".
What was also particularly striking was how many of our critics relied on theoretical examples of what affirmative action ‘should' achieve, while we relied on practical examples of what it was in fact achieving. A colleague remarked that, like many whites in decades past, the critics seemed to be in self-imposed denial that the stark image of dead babies conjured up by our critique could possibly be true.
--  It goes without saying that there are many instances where black people have forged ahead without affirmative action, or where the leg-up provided by affirmative action has worked well. But even those who have benefited from the policy must weigh their personal interest against the great price the majority of poor people pay at the hands of an increasingly inept civil service.

That price lies not just in the deaths of babies. It is evident also in our pathetic rates of economic growth, our abysmal education system, and our crisis of unemployment.   At the same time, the alternative we offer will benefit a far greater number of poor people than the current narrow band of empowerment and affirmative action beneficiaries. Why this more inclusive proposal has not been embraced, by people who claim to seek a more just society, is difficult to understand.
-- We disagree, therefore, with the notion that the current policy can simply be fixed by applying it better

Instead, we urge all South Africans to consider our alternative - Economic Empowerment for the Disadvantaged (EED) - a new policy being developed within the IRR. EED differs from affirmative action (and BEE) in two key respects. The first is that it is not race-based. Rather, it uses socio-economic circumstances to identify its beneficiaries. If your parents earn above a certain income threshold, you will not qualify under the policy. Hence, it targets only the truly disadvantaged and provides little scope to justify inappropriate appointments.

  • Secondly, it focuses not on auditing the outcomes of transformation policy but rather on providing the inputs necessary to empower poor people such as decent schooling, tertiary training opportunities, and entrepreneurial incubation. On these building blocks, and against a background of rapid economic growth, millions can and will be liberated from poverty.
-- The evidence of the past week shows that many commentators still reject the need for better affirmative action policies. Yet whether race should remain the foundation for affirmative action is a question of profound importance which will largely determine the success of all empowerment policies.

Our aim has been to draw attention to the impact of current policy on poor and vulnerable communities - and to start a conversation on the need for change. Without real change, growth, investment, and employment levels are unlikely to improve. Corruption and maladministration will persist, if not increase. Examples such as Bloemhof will multiply. On this disturbing prognosis, the evidence will, regrettably, be entirely in our favour.
Despite the at times vile abuse heaped on my IRR colleagues this week, by a small number of prominent commentators, we will not shrink back from the task of breaking the repressive death-grip that racial nationalism and crippling political correctness has over our country. If anything the experience of the past week has strengthened our resolve. My sincere and grateful thanks are extended to the many people who contacted us with messages of support and encouragement.

  • Current Repressive Climate: In the current repressive climate you are all very brave to have done so - especially where you stood up in public. A common theme running through those messages was that the IRR has told an important, and previously unspeakable, truth - that runs to the very heart of what it will take to turn our country around.
  • Your brave comments will create the space for others to stand up and join you and together we can take back the public space from those who want to control the spectrum of acceptable opinion. Using that space the IRR will continue to offer clear alternatives to the status quo in the expectation that, in time, these will help to build a better and far more prosperous South Africa.    ".
--  Frans Cronje is CEO of the IRR. This is an extended version of an article that first appeared in City Press.

New SA property laws will ban 'whites' and 'foreigners' from earning any kind of survival-living in South Africa:

From Economist.com “Two of the most worrisome Bills, on how the mining and private security industries are to be governed, were rushed through parliament before its recess. Neither bill has yet reached the statute book, but in their current form they are sure to chase away foreign investors. If the ongoing strike (eight weeks and counting) in the country’s platinum mines has not yet put them off, these bills would be likely to finish the job.
Mining Bill: One of its clauses says the state will take a 20% stake in any new petroleum venture.
-- Another allows the state to purchase a larger stake at “an agreed price” or through an output-sharing deal.

Any business people thinking of prospecting for shale oil in South Africa would think twice about doing so. If the venture proved profitable, the State could end up owning the lot.  The bill also classifies minerals as “strategic” --  which means they can be directed away from their most profitable use as Ministers see fit. For instance, coal destined for export could instead be diverted to Eskom, the state-owned electricity company, which is struggling to keep  the lights on. The criteria that will govern such decisions are not clear.

Security Bill: 'Local Black-only Ownership Clauses erode private property rights:
There are similar concerns around the security bill. New regulations were surely needed to govern an industry that has expanded rapidly in the past decade. There are now almost twice as many security guards in South Africa as regular police officers. But the bill also requires at least 51% of the ownership and control of security firms to be exercised by South African citizens. The investments of two British security firms, G4S and ADT, ought to be protected by a bilateral trade treaty. The trouble is, South Africa is also junking such treaties, to the consternation of its trading partners.
These two business-bashing bills are part of an ominous trend.
-- The South African Institute of Race Relations ( irr.org.za ) in March 2014 published a report on all business-related legislation since the start of 2013.
It concludes that a common thread through all the bills is that “they weaken property rights, reduce private-sector autonomy, threaten business with draconian penalties, and undermine investor confidence.”

Property Rights: Local Black Ownership clauses in both the mineral and security Bills:
"The amendments regarding ownership were inserted into both the mineral and security bills quite late in the day. An early draft of the mineral bill capped the state’s potential stake at 50%. -- However: the "local-ownership requirement" (i.e. black-only South African ownership requirement)  clause was slipped into the security bill only as it made its way through the committee stage of parliament.

  • Crime against Humanity: ANC-regime ignores massive human-trafficking problems in SA: USA reports:
"The SA government convicted only three traffickers during the year 2013 and began prosecution of 12 suspects for alleged sex trafficking violations. Two additional defendants awaited prosecution for their suspected involvement in the exploitation of children in domestic servitude—the first such case to reach the courts. YET -- South Africa is "a source, a transit, and a destination country for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking. South African citizens and foreign nationals are subjected to human trafficking within the country. NGO and law enforcement officials indicate South Africans constitute the largest number of victims within South Africa. South African children are subjected to trafficking mainly within the country, recruited from poor rural areas and brought to and moved between urban centers such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Bloemfontein. Girls are subjected to sex trafficking and domestic servitude; boys are forced to work in street vending, food service, begging, criminal activities, and agriculture. Reports of forced begging increased in 2013; some forced begging involved children with disabilities. The tradition of ukuthwala, the forced marriage of girls as young as 12 to adult men, is still practiced in some remote villages in Eastern and Western Cape provinces, leaving these girls vulnerable to forced labor and sex slavery; Nigerian syndicates dominate the commercial sex trade in Hillbrow and other urban areas, though local criminal rings and street gangs also organize child prostitution. Russian and Bulgarian crime syndicates operate in the Cape Town sex trade, and Chinese nationals coordinate the sex trafficking of Asian nationals. To a lesser extent, syndicates recruit and transport South African women to Europe and the Middle East, where some are forced into prostitution or domestic service. During the year, law enforcement reported increased coercion of sex trafficking victims via forced drug use, which compounded difficulties in
rescuing victims. In addition to South Africans, in 2013, the government identified victims from Russia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Ghana, Somalia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and the United States. Officials acknowledged an increased presence of Chinese victims, but Thai women were the largest identified foreign victim group. Women and girls from China, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe are recruited for legitimate work in South Africa, but are sometimes subsequently subjected to forced prostitution, domestic servitude, or forced labor in the service sector...
Peek inside deserted nuclear bomb-factory where 100 Boers built the Bomb

Die Sirkel - South Africa’s top-secret, derelict nuclear-bomb facility in Pretoria:

PELINDABA, South Africa. During the early 90’s South African President F W de Klerk abandoned his predecessor P W Botha's  top-secret nuclear-bomb production programme.

The 100 Afrikaner scientists and plutonium-enrichment experts who were building nuclear warheads for the country’s Air Force missiles left their top-secret concrete 'Sirkel' facility in such haste that some even left behind their uneaten sandwiches.  Rapport journalist Journalist Erika Gibson and  photographer Alet Pretorius were led around the concrete two-storey building by long-time Armscor worker Tim Smit, who had to light up the scene with a large torch because there’s no electricity inside the building any more.

It’s this torch-lighting which is providing a very dramatic effect – highlighting the dark secrets of this 45cm-thick concrete building perfectly.  Alet Pretorius has produced some very powerful pictures in this series:

video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67l7Ygg8uAA   http://youtu.be/67l7Ygg8uAA

Alet Pretorius published this dramatic photo-series on her blog, writing: ‘phones and furniture were left behind and the building is eerily quiet .”

Book:

NuclearBombsSouthAfricaBookByScientistVonWiellighDIEBOMpublishingDetails

A book was written called 'Die Bom' by retired nuclear physicist Dr. Nic von Wielligh. He was closely involved with the 'Boerebombs' programme. “Die Bom’ is published (in English) by Litera Publikasies, it is seen as the most accurate version of South Africa's nuclear weapons abilities.  Von Wielligh's daughter Lydia von Wielligh-Steyn helped him turn the complicated scientific explanations into layman's language.

Journalist Erica Gibson wrote in Rapport (July 26 2014):

“Very few South Africans know of the 'Sirkel-facility' opposite Pelindaba near Pretoria. And very few people know of the ground-breaking work undertaken in this top-secret facility - to build South Africa's first nuclear bombs.
Pelindaba is South Africa's French-built nuclear-research institute. The site used to belong to Afrikaans newspaper editor and historian Gustav Preller – whose deputy, legendary morphine-addicted writer/scientist Eugène Marais committed suicide with his shotgun in the shadow of a Karee thorn tree in 1936.

“The Sirkel building is a grey, windowless, concrete block with one entrance. It's melting into the rough bush growth and the adjacent koppie next to the Gerotek test-site facility. The name of the building came from the circular track where Krygkor/Armscor, South Africa's weapons-development company, used to test its military vehicles. The turnoff to the building was indicated with the sign 'werkswinkel' (workshop) to try and fool accidental passersby.

The security was tight: workers were driven there in white buses with painted windows which drove into the facility where every worker walked to his werk-station, said Tim Smit, managing director of Gerotek who has been at Krygkor for 41 years.Family and friends were not informed about the true nature of their work other than that the job was classified.
Workers at the Atomic Energy Corporation and Armskor were forbidden to meet socially. And they had to pretend to not know one another if they happened to meet by accident.

The head of security of Sirkel building had mounted an Uzi submachinegun beneath his desk for 'quick use if it became necessary'. Today it's very likely the country's most expensive warehouse, a derelict from the heyday when South Africans were developing and testing nuclear-weapons. There's no electricity in most of the building so our passage was lit with a flashlight by our guide Smit.
The walls are 45cm thick, with heavy electronically-operated doors to the gigantic safe. Nowhere, daylight could enter.

  • This is the place where employees( all Afrikaners ) who specialised in enriching uranium at the Pelindaba facility, where using it to prepare charges for nuclear missiles and floating bombs.

Smit said one safe was still found locked up when 'his people' were sent in to find out what had happened to the building after (FW de Klerk) closed down the programme.

  • "We drilled for a day and a half to get inside the safe," he told Gibson.

She wrote: ‘The double-storey building's ground floor was used to prepare nuclear-warheads and associated systems. There were eight dome-shaped isolated explosion-cells which would shoot open the roofs if anything went wrong with a test. There was very little time for any entertainment. The kitchen was small with a dining room where workers ate their sandwiches inside the building. They were not allowed to smoke: one little flame would have created a catastrophic explosion.

The rooms now contain the remnants of a damaged landmine-resistant Casspir-vehicle and a few written-off Oerlikon air-defence cannons. Its cold inside with narrow, curled passages to bar off the explosion-rooms even more. An emergency shower in one hallway bears silent witness to the radio-active material which was worked into nuclear-warheads.
Every other room is barred with another heavy safe-door. Once workers were inside they were only allowed back out in the late-afternoon when they returned home with the same white buses
with the painted windows.

There were no communication towers outside or on the building to keep the facilitity secret to satellite surveillance.

  • Gibson writes; “Die Sirkel was opened in 1981 by PW Botha, then the prime minister, in 'typical PW Botha style'. He referred to the country's plow-shares which were being turned into a sword to force the USA and Russia to the negotiation tables.  He saw the bombs as bargaining tools and also to help give South Africa the ability to defend itself against the threatening wars along its borders.
Botha wanted to give his country the ability to combat the foreign threat from the power base of nuclear bombs rather than having to rely on a power-base of black-politics.
The nuclear bombs were seen by PW Botha as the key to a peaceful solution from sA's international isolation.
  • SA was fighting a war along its borders while the SA Air Force 's antiquated airfleet was sweating blood against the then-Soviet Union's best fighter jets and powerful air-defence cannons.

Gibson wrote that “South africa found an ally when it built its nuclear weapons in Israel,” however she provides no details on what kind of cooperation was given by Israel to South Africa.

She wrote:

  • The two countries had been allies during the mid-1970s and helped South Africa develop its own long-distance missiles similar to the Israelis Jericho-range - and South Africa tested its rockets in 1985 to the great consternation by the international community.

Initially it was only planned to build six nuclear warheads here but Eventually 14 were being planned for. Israel had to quit its cooperation due to heavy pressure from the United States of America.

The first nuclear bomb was completed in December 1982 - a Christmas present to PW Botha. Today the only material left in the safe-rooms are two external fuel tanks for a Mirage fighter jet.
When the Soviet-Union collapsed, the Angola border war ended and P W Botha died unexpectedly of a stroke.

  • The country's new president FW de Klerk took very rapid action: in 1989 the 100 workers at the Sirkel facility heard that De Klerk decided to end the nuclear-arms programme.
South Africa thus became the only nuclear-power to voluntarily disarm its nuclear weapons and close down its programme. Decades of hard work ended with one pen-stroke.
It went so fast that some people left there sandwiches behind.
  • During the following five years, six completed nuclear warheads and one half-complete, were made inoperative and taken apart.
The International Atomic Energy Agency in the USA confirmed in August 1994 that all the bombs were destroyed.
(The nuclear-grade plutonium now is stored at a high-security facility monitored with video-cameras and closed down with safes which are under the direct control of the
IAEA. The facility was broken into three times but the weapons-grade plutonium – enough to build 14 nuclear bombs --  remained safe).

Gibson wrote that ‘the last chapter in the nuclear-weapons programme of South Africa played itself out when the SA Air Force which was in control of the programme as its end-user, deciced around 1992 to take the weapons from Die Sirkel to an ammo-depot near Roedtan in Limpopo. The decision was never followed up on.

  • The two Rapport journalists who visited the facility and photographed it completed their story with the claim that 'this plan could have been part of a possible rightwing coup'.
They didn't provide any proof for this claim either.

A book was written called 'Die Bom' by retired nuclear physicist Dr. Nic von Wielligh. He was closely involved with the 'Boerebombs' programme. Written in Afrikaans and published by Litera Publikasies, it is seen as the most accurate version of South Africa's nuclear weapons abilities.  Von Wielligh's daughter Lydia von Wielligh-Steyn helped him to turn the complicated scientific explanations into layman's language. http://www.litera.co.za/books

"Many rubbish stories have been publishedover the years about South Africa's nuclear-bomb programme. "I try where-ever possible to provide the necessary documentation to prove the true version of events.  Where I didn't have the answers, I also said so, " said Von Wielligh about his book.

Child murders soar in S-Africa

Murdered South African children are shot, stabbed, torched, hacked with machetes, bludgeoned with knobkieries, girl-babies are abandoned and toddlers die from sexual-abuse...

-- In 2013, South Africa was rated as having more than double the world average for child homicides by the World Health Organization.

ChildMurdersInSouthAfricaSignatoryToAfricanCharterOnChildrensRightsMAP

Above: Yet South Africa has signed and ratified the African Charter for the Protection of Children - but clearly are not protecting their children…

In 2011 and 2012 only 1,720 child-murder cases actually reached South African Law Courts:

During 2011 and 2012, only 1,720 child-murder cases actually reached South African law courts. Many cases never are investigated after the post-mortem,  reported the South African Medical Research Council: noting that 'child-murder cases following a post mortem investigation often end there -- and are not investigated by the police'.

--  While South African children already are being murdered at a rate more than twice the world's average by 2009, many cases are never even investigated by the SA Police Service after the post-mortem findings.
--  Some of these facts were revealed on 5 August 2014 in a reply to a parliamentary question, asked by Mike Waters MP of the opposition Democratic Alliance party.

The reply from the ruling ANC-party’s Minister revealed that the number of murder cases reported against children in the law-courts have soared:
--- In the 2011/2012 SAPS-bookyear a total of of 793 child-murder cases were heard. But last year these rose to 827.

--  The Minister of Police, Nathi Nhleko also shockingly revealed in his reply, that these child murders were committed using firearms, knives, knobkerries, fire, machetes (he didn’t say, but should have said, that many girl-babies were abandoned or died from sexual assault due to witchcraft-practices).

-- Important to note here is that ANC-minister Nhleko's sampled data only takes into consideration those child murder allegations that have actually reached the law-courts between 2011 and 2013. It’s not known how many people were actually sent to prison from those cases – that’s the next parliamentary question to be posed.

“A Multitude of Child-Murder cases Never make it to Court…”

ChildMurdersInSouthAfricaSoaringWithHorrificCrueltyDianaKohlBarnard

Above: MP Diane Kohler-Barnard commented that 'it is certain that there are a multitude of child murder cases that never make it to court due to bungled investigations and a generally over-stretched South African Police Service (SAPS). The true number, including those cases that aren't even reported, could be significantly higher. In fact the South African Medical Research Council (SAHRC) has found that cases following a post mortem investigation often end there -- and do not become subject to police investigation. It is deeply concerning that many parents have to deal with a criminal justice system that does not produce the justice they deserve. Every single one of these murders must reach a court of law and hopefully a successful conviction. We also need to improve the SAPS' ability to stop these murders from taking place.
"We will be submitting further parliamentary questions to ascertain:
-- How many of these murders resulted in successful convictions;
-- How many were acquittals; and
-- And how many never made it to court on account of lack of evidence or bungled investigations?
"We must do everything we can to stop the murders of our children and to ensure that the perpetrators are successfully prosecuted."
Statement issued by Dianne Kohler Barnard MP, DA Shadow Minister of Police, August 5 2014

World Health Organization: Child-homicide rates in South Africa is more than double the world-average:
(2013)  August 2 2013 SAPA and Independent Newspapers

ChildMurderShameOfSouthAfrica2013iolreport

Above: State-Mortuary samples from 2009 already showed that 5.5 of every 100,000 children were murdered in South Africa at that stage. (‘official’ population:  51million)

Pretoria – Aug 2 2013 SAPA - South Africa’s estimated rate of child homicide is more than double the global average, says a study published in the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Bulletin released this week. In 2009, 5.5 among every 100 000 children under 18 were killed. This was double the WHO estimate of 2.4 murders among every 100 000 children, but closer to the rate in other sub-Saharan countries. The samples were from South Africa’s state-run mortuaries between January and December 2009. The WHO conducted a retrospective study of female and child homicide cases.“The epidemiology of child homicides in South Africa” is the first such study in South Africa. Most of the 1,018 children killed in 2009 were boys.
--  The authors also said "South Africa was in desperate need of policies that adequately addressed the problem of male teenage violence.
"The most used murder-methods killing South African children were stabbing, bashing with knobkieries, slashing to death with machetes, and among girls: infant abandonment.
And many of the child murders 'involved sexual assault" (*and baby-rape).

Court orders 300 homeless Afrikaners to crime-ridden township

Video: Cruel court order forcibly removes 300 homeless Afrikaners to a rubbish-tip without clean water or schools - in high-crime Muncieville

AfrikanerSquattersKrugersdorpForcedRemovalKrugerdorpRekordPage1

Afrikaans story on http://krugersdorpnews.co.za/239694/video-hof-beslis-wit-plakkers-moet-uit/

What the court-order entails is that 122 very poor white families with an average monthly income of R300 from private donors, and without transport, will have to move with their 74 children and 24 elderly, first watching their well-built shacks being demolished -- and upon arrival have to raise corrugated iron shacks overnight at a trash-dump in Muncieville, where there is no running water, no electricity nor any safety for the group.

  •  To add insult to injury, this highly vulnerable group of Afrikaners must be moved by December 16 – renamed to “Reconciliation Day,’ under the ANC-regime but which the Afrikaners however commemorate as the Day of the Vow:
  • The Krugersdorp News interviewed the group shortly after they got the news of the shock-court order and their confusion, deep anger and outright fear is seen clearly on this video http://youtu.be/Wzj1CliwNvo

These 122 Afrikaner families which have fought since 2009 to try and stay together as a cultural Afrikaans community, now are being forcibly removed. The ANC-regime now is going to force these Afrikaners to go and live on a rubbish-tip at the high-crime black squatter camp of Muncieville.

  • Importantly, as has happened before at other forced removals of whites into black townships, the black residents of Muncieville also are ‘not pleased’ and have been threatening the Afrikaners with murder and issueing threats that their 'women and children will be raped'. There was only one Afrikaner man seen on the video clip at Coronation Park squatter camp in Krugersdorp who said it may be a ‘good thing to be moved to Muncieville’.

The threats of murder and rape also are based on fact: many black townships like these are infamous for its 'jackrolling' youth gangs which roam the streets looking for vulnerable young girls to rape, impregnate and infect with AIDS -deliberately. They call it their ‘fun’.

Valiant, disabled gold-medalist athlete Irene van Niekerk, 16, has lived at Coronation Camp for past 7 years:

One of the residents of the Coronation Park internal refugee camp for homeless Afrikaners in Krugersdorp camp is the valiant young Afrikaner athlete Irene van Niekerk, – direct descendant of the South African boxing champion Jimmy Abbott. Irene, despite having lost all her toes in a fire-accident, still is a star athlete at her school.
She has been interviewed often by foreign journalists and is a charming girl, a natural story-teller. Her motto is: ' never give up'.

VanNiekerkIrene15SquatterCampGirlGoldMedalAthlete

The Van Niekerks are the direct descendants of the Welsh goldminers who worked at the Witwatersrand mines from the 1920s and were imported by the British colonial government. Their extended family used to live at the Honeydew smallholdings near Randburg, north of Johannesburg. They  have always been known as the 'ultimate survivors' who were never wealthy, but formed a tight-knit community which helped each other in their daily battle to survive their tough working-class lives. Many ‘upperclass’ Afrikaners look down on them – often deriding these less-educated Afrikaner groups with the namee ‘ma-plotties’ which translates to ‘lowlife black smallholders -- for their survivalist, non-conformist lifestyle. It would be similarly derisive to calling white working-class people in the USA ‘trailer trash”.

News also arrives from other areas in South Africa that the ANC-government has clearly taken a high-level policy-decision to remove many of the sonamed 'poor white squatter camps' out of the public eye as they can: they are beginning to draw a lot of unwanted, international attention. There are ethnic-cleansing plans for 'poor whites' in other municipalities in South Africa such as Reitz in the Free State and Boksburg (below) - forcing these ethnic-Afrikaners from their life-long cultural areas into regions where they are not only hated, but their children also lose their links to their cultural heritage.

ANC is breaking the International Genocide Convention:

It is against the International Genocide Convention of the United Nations to deliberately alienate the children of cultural minorities - such as the Afrikaners - and force them to accept the culture of the majority. But that’s exactly what the ANC-regime is doing through their deliberate impoverishment of the Afrikaners – which forces them out of their own cultural backgrounds.

  • They are denied any means of survival under their Black Economic Empowerment Laws which each year bar more and more ‘whites’ (ANC-code term: “Previously Advantaged Race Group”) from formal employment.

Ablution block at Kroningspark was their lifeline: now being taken away

Yet the tough-minded Van Niekerks and the 122 families who depend on them, all managed to survive everything thus far:  because they could fight it out together at the Kroningspark - with the local ablution block with its clean water as their lifeline to survival and staying healthy.

  • It is very clear that the ANC-regime is busy with a massive ethnic-cleansing campaign against the most vulnerable, poorest segment of the Afrikaner community. Exactly how how vulnerable and endangered the Afrikaners like the Van Niekerk’s extended clan have already become - read our daily updates on http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports  Following is the translated report from the Krugersdorp News:

South Gauteng (‘Transvaal’)  High Court orders forced removal of 300 poor Afrikaners to a rubbish dump:
August 7 2014 - 300 poor Afrikaners -including 74 children and 24 elderly - forced to move to garbage-dump at violent-driven Muncieville squatter camp:
The Van Niekerk clan - descendants of kickboxer Jimmy Abbott - have heard in the High Court that all 122 households will have to move to the garbage-tip at Muncieville by December 16, 2014, sonamed 'Reconciliaton Day''. The Krugersdorp ANC-officials have allocated a garbage-dump at the crime-ridden black Muncieville squatter camp where they will be given some building materials so that they can 'rebuild their community'.
--  Reported by Krugersdorp Daily newspaper Jacobus Myburgh en Amoryn Golden 7 August 2014     “What future will our people have here? We are going to die of misery (at Muncieville)', said Kroningspark resident Maryna Lin. Some of the camp-residents attended the court hearing on August 4 2014 where the unidentified judge ruled that 'all 122 households have to be moved by Reconciliation Day 16 December 2014.' The Van Niekerks have fought their legal battle since 2009 to keep their community together at Coronation Park. The local ANC-regime wants to turn the site into a R22million 'dreampark'. "We have been allocated a garbage dump at Munsieville. Give us rather another piece of land such as the Donaldson Dam near Randfontein where there are trees and playgrounds for the kids,' said George Abbott. His wife Irene said 'even that large open piece of land next to the Afrikaans High School Bastion would be suitable'. An atmosphere of fear now hangs over the camp residents. Several mentioned that Muncieville is far away from hospitals and schools, and that the white children would be at danger, having to walk long distances to school. There are no water- or toilet-facilities. What kind of future will we have there. We will die of misery.' The residents also face having to lose all their basic donations for food and clothing. George van Niekerk says he gets about R300 a month and is afraid that their donors would not want to support them at Muncieville - a place where they know they are not safe: they have received death-threats from Muncieville residents before, and threats that 'we will rape your women and children." Adri Prinsloo 54 has lived at Kroningspark for more than a year and said she'd rather to to sleep 'hungry' than dirty - there are no ablution facilities at the garbage dump where the government wants the Afrikaners to go and rebuild their shacks. The oldest resident is the (grizzled, weather-beaten) Hannelie Grouws - she's lived there for 15 years. She fears for her life and said the Muncieville squatters 'will not accept us'. "Poverty doesn't mean we aren't proud, we want to keep ourselves clean at least'.
Her biggest worry is where they will sleep the first night after their first removal. "They are breaking down your whole house here at Kroningspark and then you have to rebuild it on the dump-site at Muncieville,'  she said. Residents are also expected to pay for their own transportation costs to the site - and none of them have that kind of money. Kroningspark was conveniently located at walking distance to town facilities. Some still have subsistence jobs which helps them survive nearby -- and will have to try and find the money to transport them to work somehow if they are dumped in Muncieville.  Mr Van Niekerk said the 'municipality has undertaken to provide corrugated iron sheets, nails and tools to 'help them rebuild a new life’.

ANC regime ignores trauma suffered by Somali captives Debbie Maritz and Bruno Pelizzari

- Their Somali captors ‘abused the captured Afrikaner Christian woman while the couple were held captive from  Oct 26 2010 to June 21 2012

AfrikanerCoupleCaptivesFromSomalisReleasedPressConferencePicture

Nothing illustrates the ANC-regime’s lack of compassion towards its 3,4-million Afrikaner citizens better than the uncaring way in which they treated Somali captives Debbie Maritz and Bruno Pelizzari – showing no concern for their well-being during their captivity; refusing the prosecute the Somali pirates when they were captured by the Dutch Navy – and ignoring the couple’s traumatic plight thereafter…

September 22 2014 - by Adriana Stuijt a.j.stuijt@knid.nl  " The lack of compassion with which this white couple was treated by the ANC-regime after their 20-month ordeal at the hands of Somali pirates, is indescribable.
They were simply expected to 'get on with their lives' - even though they are poor. The couple did not even get sufficient trauma-treatment from their 'government' nor did they receive any financial compensation for their ordeal.

The couple have since split up, undoubtedly from the stress: as ‘whites’ they have to somehow survive in a country where 'whites' like them aren't even allowed to hold down fulltime jobs - by law.
Debbie Maritz has been particularly traumatized: she told the Afrikaans news media that she was raped repeatedly by her captors and that they never gave her anything to wear except the swimsuit she was captured in. They treated this kind-hearted Christian Afrikaner woman with contempt. The Afrikaans woman reportedly now is in dire straights, trying to survive on the tough streets of Boksburg, unable to forget the terror of her ordeal.

Yet when the Dutch marines moved in and rescued Peter Eldridge - the Richard's Bay-based owner/skipper who had lodged himself in a tight corner of tchained himself to the yacht, determined not to get captured, the impoverished couple were worked for him as the crew were marched off at gunpoint during the firefight. Now that five of the Somalis, captured during the firefight, have been convicted and sentenced ten years in a Dutch prison, shouldn’t the Dutch government also be held partially responsible to try and get the couple – but especially Debbie – back on their feet?

Then there's the South African regime - which has refused to prosecute the five captured Somali pirates after the Dutch Navy had offered to turn the pirates over to the South African authorities. That’s not surprising: the ANC regime also openly refuses to help any Afrikaner even when they are slowly starving to death in little squatter camps. At least one-third of the Afrikaner nation of 3,4million people are suffering severe poverty, according to Solidarity Helping Hand charity, which is struggling to keep these families alive.

These 'whites' are not allowed to work, not allowed to own land, must hand over any meagre profits of businesses they may be running to “ANC-cadre partners”, the Afrikaners are not allowed to even educate their own children in their home language of Afrikaans... Nothing highlights the lack of concern shown towards the Afrikaners by the ANC regime better than their horrendous neglect of the badly traumatized Debbie Maritz after she and Bruno were rescued by Somali military forces.

The South African regime couldn't even be bothered to negotiate for this impoverished Afrikaner couple's release.

I call on the international community to please help Debbie Maritz and Bruno Pellizari. Debbie is a badly traumatized woman whose ordeal was described far too briefly to the international community: after they had made their money out of the dramatic story of their release... everybody just ignored her, including her own government…

Dutch marines kill 2 pirates off Somali coast

AfrikanerCoupleCaptivesDutchMarinesCapture11PiratesApril42011

April 4, 2011 Mike Corder THE HAGUE, Netherlands — Dutch marines killed two pirates and captured 16 others during an operation to free a hijacked Iranian fishing boat off the coast of Somalia, the Defense Ministry said Monday.
The deadly firefight marked the first time Dutch forces have killed suspected pirates while patrolling the Gulf of Aden as part of an international anti-piracy flotilla. Marines from the frigate HMS Tromp opened fire on the pirates on the hijacked Iranian boat Sunday after they shot at two Dutch inflatable speedboats sent to investigate the fishing vessel, the ministry said. Ten suspected pirates were captured as they tried to flee in a high-speed skiff and six more were detained on the fishing boat. The bodies of two suspected pirates killed in the firefight also were recovered on the vessel. Dutch Defence Ministry spokeswoman Marloes Visser said the pirates, some of whom were wounded in the shooting, were being questioned on board the Tromp. The injured were receiving medical treatment, but it was unclear if the captives would be taken anywhere for trial. "It is not yet clear what will happen next. Prosecutors will have to decide," Visser told The Associated Press. Wim de Bruin of the national prosecutor's office said Monday he had no information on the case. Even as Dutch marines searched the Iranian dhow, another group of pirates approached, apparently intent on hijacking the boat, the Defense Ministry statement said. The crew of the Tromp fired warning shots to force the second group of pirates to flee. The dhow and its crew were allowed to sail away from the scene of the attacks after the Dutch intervention. After years of tentative action against pirates, the international armada sent to protect shipping in the gulf has become more assertive and willing to prosecute captured hijackers rather than let them go. Last month, the Indian navy attacked in self-defense a fishing boat, which had been used by pirates as a mothership. Sixty-one pirates were captured and were taken to Mumbai, India's financial capital, to be prosecuted. And in 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL sharpshooters killed three pirates who were holding the American captain of the Maersk Alabama ship.
Last year, five Somalis were convicted of attacking a Dutch Antilles-flagged cargo ship with automatic weapons and a rocket-propelled grenade, in the first piracy case to come to trial in Europe in modern times. They are serving five-year prison sentences in a Dutch jail,

Five of 11 pirates who captured South Africans Debbie Maritz and Bruno Pellizzari were arrested by the Dutch Navy: however, the ANC regime refused to prosecute them in South Africa so the Dutch put them on trial in Rotterdam, The Netherlands:

Bruno Pelizzari and Deborah Calitz release pending: October 20 1011: "To SA yacht crew members said to be 'safe in Mogadishu after misunderstanding with Somali pirates with a religious agenda'.
The two Afrikaner Christians were captured from the yacht Choizil since October 26 2010.The couple's capture was described by Peter Eldridge, skipper of the yacht, testifying to Dutch police.Jan 10 2011 - Peter Eldridge, skipper of the yacht Choizil, has described his ordeal at the hands of Somali pirates who seized his yacht and kidnapped his crewmates, Bruno Pelizzari and Deborah Calitz, to Dutch police and court officials. It has also been reported that the captured Durban couple, after a ‘misunderstanding with Somali pirates with a religious agenda’ , are said to be ‘safe’ in Mogadishu. The couple have no money. The skipper managed to escape with the help of Dutch Marines when his yacht was seized by Somali pirates but they dragged away his two hapless crewmates: two empoverished Afrikaners who had hitched a ride with him to get back to South Africa. Brono Pelizzari and Debarah Calitz were dressed only in their swim suits when they were captured.Pelizzari’s sister Vera said last night they had learned of the sentencing on Friday, but it did not change the fact that her brother and Deborah were still being held captive after nine months. Tanya Waterworth writes in the Cape Argus that the families issued the plea to the pirates holding them, al-Shabaab and All Somalia to "show humanity – release our family from this emotional famine that has been imposed on us.”

The desperate plea will be circulated in the Somali media on Monday. In the emotional plea for their return, Pelizzari highlighted the work being done by South Africa’s Gift of the Givers charity in the famine-stricken city of Mogadishu and its immediate surrounds.

“Every night we have heard on the news how South Africa, through the Gift of the Givers and the generosity of many South Africans, are assisting Somalia in its famine crisis and saving countless lives.

“These two South Africans are people of Africa and innocent of any offence to their brothers and sisters of Somalia.

“We ask the pirates holding them, al-Shabaab and all Somalia to show humanity – release our family from this emotional famine that has been imposed on us,” they said in their the plea. Deborah Calitz’s daughter, Kerri, said the families were hoping the media plea would help get her mother freed.

“The pirates’ sentencing does not help us at all – my mom and Bruno are still being held.” - Independent on Saturday

South African authorities refused to prosecute the five Somali pirates after their capture by the Dutch Navy:

Five of the twelve pirates were tried after they were captured by the Dutch navy. The South African authorities refused to prosecute them after the the Dutch navy rescued the South African skipper and his yacht and towed it to Richard's Bay harbour.  The captain of the yacht, Peter Eldridge, submitted testimony to the Dutch authorities and the law courts about the cruel circumstances in which he and his two crew-members were attacked. Eldridge refused to leave his yacht and was rescued by the Dutch navy.  The Dutch captured five of the pirates but others managed to drag away the two Afrikaner crew-members, Bruno Pelizzari and his life-partner Deborah Calitz. They have been in captivity ever since October 26, 2010, 'somewhere in Mogadishu'.
In January this year,  Peter Eldridge, skipper of the yacht Choizil, returned to South Africa after described his ordeal at the hands of Somali pirates to Dutch police and court officials.

It has also been reported that the captured Durban couple, both Christians, were nearly killed shortly after their capture - due to 'a ‘misunderstanding with Somali pirates with a religious agenda’ but that they were said to be ‘safe’ in Mogadishu since that time.

The South African authorities claim that they are 'negotiating for their release". The couple have no money for ransom and neither do their family. The most important thing now is to get Bruno and Debbie back safely,’ said SA yachtsman Peter Eldridge after testifying at the trial of five captured Somali pirates in The Netherlands, which led to their imprisonment on August 12 2011 in Rotterdam. He positively identified the accused men as being among the armed pirates who had hijacked the Choizil. “I then went before the magistrate and said virtually the same things, and was then asked questions by the lawyers.” He said that giving evidence there and knowing that some of the men had been arrested had not helped him in dealing with the trauma of the incident. “It is probably something I will never get over… The most important thing now is to get Bruno and Debbie back safely,” he said at the time. - The Mercury http://www.iol.co.za/news/africa/skipper-describes-hijacking-to-cops-1.1009939

South African international relations spokesman Saul Kgomotso Molobi: “kidnappers made no contact with South African government…’ (which has an embassy in Mogadishu).

According to Sail World’s purportedly 'well-placed source' in February this year a man named Andrew Mwangura in Kenya, and whose links with the piracy-industry in Somalia have in the past were said to be ‘extremely accurate’, the abducted couple Bruno Pelizzari and Debbie Calitz were moved to Mogadishu after their capture.

  • South African International Relations spokesman Saul Kgomotso Molobi said on 12 August 2011 that ‘the kidnappers had not made contact with the South African government nor with the relatives of Bruno Pelizzari and his partner, Deborah Calitz. 'They have not sent any ransom demands so we don't know what they want,' he said. However, Molobi said hope for the couple's safe return has not faded, as pirates sometimes took a long time to make ransom demands. 'We believe they are alive. “

HOW WERE THE PIRATES CAPTURED?
The pirates were tried in Rotterdam the Netherlands after they were captured by the Dutch navy.

  •  The South African authorities refused to prosecute them after the the Dutch navy rescued the South African skipper and his yacht and towed it to Richard's Bay harbour.
The captain of the yacht, Peter Eldridge, submitted testimony to the Dutch authorities and the law courts about the cruel circumstances in which he and his two crew-members were attacked. Eldridge (tied himself to the ship) and refused to leave his yacht and was rescued by the Dutch navy.

The couple have no money for ransom and neither do their family. All the presents that Bruno and Debbie had bought for family back home and their money were found. When they came back we repeatedly told them we didn’t have any money and that we were South African,' he said. The pirates stayed on the yacht while a mother ship carrying drums of fuel delivered food and tea to them.
The three South Africans were used as human shields by the muslims:
On November 7, the pirates holding Eldridge and the couple hostage on the yacht, spotted a French warship on the horizon. 'There were two boats. One was from Amsterdam. Their helicopters were hovering overhead. The pirates then began firing at the warship with their AK47s and launched rockets.'
Eldridge was told to contact the French vessel. Eldridge was able to inform them over the radio that there were eight pirates on board. 'Afterwards, the pirates made us sit on the side of the yacht, facing the warship. They had guns to our heads,' he said.
The pirates motored the yacht until the motor seized and it ran aground on the Somali coast. The couple were forced ashore but Eldridge refused to leave. 'One of the pirates came back,' he said. 'He ripped the microphone from the radio and started beating me. I refused to go. I lodged myself so he couldn’t pull me out. He then discharged his weapon. I was uninjured. He then left.'
Eldridge made contact with the warship again and was rescued.
At time of writing, no contact has been established with the kidnapping pirates, and no ransom demand has so far been made. Plettenberg Bay/Sail-World Cruising

Richards Bay yachtsman Peter Eldridge, owner of the yacht Choizil, was exhausted after returning from the Netherlands, where he was interviewed by police and court officials on his hijacking by Somali pirates near Tanzania on Oct 26 2010,  reported Bronwyn Gerretsen. Mr Eldridge’s yacht was pirated on the high seas near Tanzania by AK47-wielding pirates on October 26. He, along with his crew, Durban couple Bruno Pelizzari and Deborah Calitz, were held hostage for 13 days before the yacht was run aground. Eldridge was left on the yacht after he refused to disembark, but Pelizzari and Ms Calitz were taken hostage. Five Somali pirates – among those who hijacked Eldridge – were arrested by the anti-piracy task force and put on trial in the Netherlands law courts.
Eldridge was returned to Richard’s Bay by a Dutch warship after his ordeal, and last week was flown to the Netherlands to testify. He was first interviewed by Dutch police, to whom he related details of the incident.
“The most important thing now is to get Bruno and Debbie back safely,’ said SA yachtsman Peter Eldridge after testifying at the trial of five captured Somali pirates in The Netherlands, which led to their imprisonment on August 12 2011 in Rotterdam.
He positively identified the accused men as being among the armed pirates who had hijacked the Choizil. “I then went before the magistrate and said virtually the same things, and was then asked questions by the lawyers.”

However, Molobi said hope for the couple's safe return has not faded, as pirates sometimes took a long time to make ransom demands. 'We believe they are alive. Eldridge’s account of couple’s capture:
In a blow by blow account of the traumatic hijacking off the Tanzanian coast on October 26, Peter Eldridge, 61, explained that he was prepared to sink his yacht, SY Choizil, if the pirates made it their 'mother ship' to rob other vessels. 'I had made peace that … if they were going to go ahead with their plan to make it their mother ship, I was prepared to sink with my yacht and the pirates,' he said.  Eldridge refused to leave his yacht when the pirates  took his crew hostage on November 7 2011. Eldridge, an experienced yachtsman, had lived on his yacht on the coast of Dar-es- Salaam for several years. 'I decided to sail to Richards Bay in November because it was a good time to sail. I approached Bruno and Debbie to be my crew and they agreed because this would allow them to visit their families back home,' Eldridge said at the Zululand Yacht Club. He said the issue of piracy was fully discussed in Dar-es-Salaam with the couple before they set sail in October. 'We believed that in the likely event of being attacked, we would be robbed and then the pirates would leave us,' he said.
On October 26, 160km from the Tanzanian coast, two motorboats pulled up on either side of the yacht. He was quickly able to send out a mayday signal. Twelve pirates, armed with AK47 guns and RPG rockets, boarded the yacht. 'Communication was poor but they demanded the satellite radio and any cellphones we had. They disconnected the fixed radio and removed it.' The three were held at gunpoint while the vessel was searched.
'All the presents that Bruno and Debbie had bought for family back home and their money were found. When they came back we repeatedly told them we didn’t have any money and that we were South African,' he said. The pirates stayed on the yacht while a mother-ship carrying drums of fuel delivered food and tea to them. On November 7, the pirates spotted a French warship on the horizon. 'There were two boats. One was from Amsterdam. Their helicopters were hovering overhead. The pirates then began firing at the warship with their AK47s and launched rockets.'

Caption above: two of the five farm-attackers went on trial: they were acquitted and can never be tried again, because somehow, the SA Police Service (SAPS) ‘had lost the forensic evidence’. The widow testified that she was ‘treated like a criminal by the court’ . She was never informed of her rights as a witness before or during the trial… Now, the widow often sees her husband’s murderers in town, she testified to the South African Human Rights Commission on 15 September 2014.

by Ernst Roets, Afriforum, 17 September, 2014 -

"FOCHVILLE -- 20 February 2012 began as an ordinary day in the lives of David and Bernadette Hall. The Halls were milking cows on their farm, Buffelshoek, near Fochville.  There they were overpowered by five black male attackers at 6am.

Bernadette was tied up and assaulted with a blunt object. David was less fortunate.

  • After a fight with the robbers, who were just too many for him, he was finally on his knees. The lawn outside the dairy is where David breathed his last breath.  (Bernadette testified in court that two shots were fired through his brain while he sat on his knees in front of his murderers).
The community was furious. Lt-Gen Zukisa Mbombo, Commissioner of Police for the North West Province, said at the time that ‘the police would not stop their search until the suspects were behind bars.’

DAVID WILL NEVER SEE HIS CHILDREN GET MARRIED…

“He will never have the privilege to stand back and see what he achieved in his life,” said Bernadette this week, testifying at the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC). “He will not see his children get married and he will never meet his grandchildren.”
What is even worse, is the fact that the assailants are still walking around as free people and that Bernadette sees them from time to time.
Below: she testified that ‘their faces are engraved in my brain”….
    HallBernardetteTestimonyInCourtOfMurderTrialTwoMurderers
The case was not thoroughly investigated. Several forensic pieces of evidence, including a jacket, cigarette butts and the cables that were used to tie up Bernadette, were found at the scene. Initially, the police did not confiscate these items  until they were confronted about it by farmers in the community. This proved to be in vain …
(Two of the ) attackers were caught and charged with murder in court.  (above) There, however, the State could not prove a case against them because there was "no evidence against them:"
Nobody knows what became of the (forensic) evidence that was found at the scene.  Virtually the only evidence against the attackers was the fact that Bernadette identified them during an identification parade.  “I was there. I saw how they murdered my husband. I know who they are,” she later said. “

NO FINGERPRINTS TAKEN OF ESCAPE VEHICLE:

The Halls’ vehicle in which the attackers fled, was also found, but no fingerprints were taken on the vehicle.

The two assailants were acquitted.  And – because of the legal principle "autrefois acquit" (double jeopardy) these assailants can never be charged with the same crime again, even if the evidence should suddenly emerge.

I WAS TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL DURING THE TRIAL: WIDOW

HallBernadetteTestimonyAtHumanRightsCommissionBraamfonteinSept162014aboutMurderOfHerHusband

Above: Bernardette Hall testifying at the Human Rights Commission, 16 Sept 2014 (video on YouTube Afriforum)

“I was treated like a criminal during the trial. It was very traumatic,” she explained. Her rights as a victim were never explained to her. Nobody helped her to prepare for the trial. In the court, she was attacked and humiliated by the assailants’ legal representatives.

But Bernadette is still on the farm. “Why do you not move to town?” one of the human rights commissioners asked her. “To farm is in my blood,” she replied.
“Since I was a little girl, I told my parents that I wanted to be a farmer. Nothing can replace the smell of rain and soil on the farm. One does not suddenly decide that you want to farm. "Farmers are born; people are not made into farmers.”

And then the dramatic statement: “I would rather stay on the farm and be killed than stay in town. I will not survive it.”

Today Bernadette is actively involved with AfriForum’s campaign against farm attacks. She not only supports it, but also takes initiative and arranges her own actions.

PROSECTION ALSO GUILTY:

It is clear, though, that the police are not the only culprits in the fight against farm murders, but that the prosecution authority is just as guilty. The SAHRC was very much aggrieved by Bernadette’s story. Yet, she is no exception.

Nearly all the victims with whom AfriForum are communicating, complain that their cases are not followed up, that files and evidence disappear, that investigators do not answer their phones or do not return calls and that victims are treated like criminals in court. AfriForum has undertaken to submit a further report in this regard to the SAHRC.

Murder-rape of Jasmine Pretorius 4: angry protestors storm police van

The usually so peaceful Afrikaner community clearly wanted to kill the suspected murderer of 4-year-old Jasmine Pretorius when the 23-year-old uncle, face and jacket covered in blood, appeared in Brakpan magistrate's court on Monday December 30 2013. The case was postponed to January 7 2014.

Johannesburg Dec 30 2013 -  BRAKPAN. Tempers ran very high on Monday outside the magistrate's court among the 1,000-strong crowd of pink-garbed protestors when the suspected killer of four-year-old Jasmine Lee Pretorius, (above) -- who has been already been identified on the social media as her reportedly drug-addicted and homosexual uncle Sarel, 23 --  appeared to be arraigned for the trial.

Anybody wondered exactly how angry the people of Brakpan were about the rape-murder of four-year-old Jasmine Pretorius?

video: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=577408949020553&set=vb.100002543597045&type=2&theater

And after the court appearance, people continued to seethe, with reports at 3pm indicating that the Voortrekker street portion in front of Suenet Apartments where the little girl was murdered, has been closed: reportedly because people wanted to burn it down:

Above: When the 1,000-strong crowd of protestors -- escorted by the murdered girl's grandfather, pastor Colin Bam and members of his Jesus Disciple Biker Ministry (above) --  arrived at the court room after marching through Voortrekker Street, they were in a very ugly mood indeed.

  • Pastor Bam, the murdered girl's grandfather, is raising funds to pay for her funeral:
  • Meanwhile, the murdered girl Jasmine Pretorius' grandfather (tel. 082-469-4415 ) has also had to raise funds for his murdered granddaughter's funeral.  He said his daughter Sasha Lee Bam and the girl's father Morné Pretorius  were recently divorced; and Sasha is six months pregnant.  It is also believed that a local funeral home is also contributing to the costs.

The suspect - according to the SAPS and news media --  has 'already confessed'.  However the 23-year-old man made no statement in court  --other than to explain to the magistrate questioning him about his injuries and his bloodied jacket that he had 'fallen down'.  He gave no response to repeated questions whether he wanted a lawyer.

At this first remand hearing the Monday following the little girl's murder, no charges were formulated and he was ordered to remain in police custody. And while Sarel Pretorius was not asked to plead, his identity and picture have already been widely circulated all over the social news media on Monday.

The pictures sent around  on twitter and facebook were already condemning him: headlined: "Sarel Pretorius, rapist and murderer of 4-year-old Jasmine'.

PretoriusJasmineKillerPicTweetSarelPretorius23dec302013.

Journalist Mia Lindeque @MiaLindeque tweeted: "The 23-year old accuse is crying - refusing to make eye contact with the magistrate."  The case was postponed to 7 January 2014 in the same courtroom.  While people lit candles and prayed in front of the apartment building in nearby Voortrekker Street where the little Afrikaans girl's body was found, the social media in South Africa was awash with calls to bring back the death sentence -- specifically for him.

Afrikaner protestors stormed police-van, tried to break down the gates to the court room, shouting: 'give him to us'...

Outside the court a 1,000-strong crowd, many dressed in pink -- the last colour Jasmin wore before she was raped and murdered -- was described as 'rowdy' while they waited for the suspect's appearance. The atmosphere was described by journalists and police as 'explosive' and extra police were rushed in to stop the crowd from breaking down the gates and storming the courtroom.

PretoriusJolandeMarchersBrakpanCrowd Above: This was a very angry crowd: as soon as the  police van showed up with the prisoner, the crowd surged around and attacked it, screaming in Afrikaans: 'Give him to us.' An elderly man burst into tears. Pictures are also all over the twitter pages from South Africa showing people holding up placards demanding an end to child-abuse.

The Jacaranda News @JacaNews tweeted from courtroom that the SAPS has asked the murdered child's parents 'not to return home: community members demanding answers from the parents'.

  • The EWN-news tweeted:  @ewnreporter: "Police are now preparing to escort the father of little Jasmine out.  Angry community members want his blood."Minutes later EWN tweeted: "Community members are shouting at family members saying "if you guys weren't drunk all the time Jasmine would have lived."
  • Onlooker Karyn Maughan @karynmaughan tweeted:"Granny and father of raped, murdered 4 year old have to be escorted by bikers after community threaten them."

Tweeter Angelique Angi Botha  writes on Boere Krisis Aksie:"I cannot believe I know that man. He's the lover of one of our friends. He's gay. So he's going to enjoy jail because he's housed there for free. He has already tried to burn down his lover's house, and stolen his stuff. And now he does this to his own brother's child. If I could see that guy just once he will no longer be a man. That child had her life ahead of her, now she's gone. It makes me so angry.'

    Chédene H ® @Chedene

tweeted on Monday Dec 30 at 15h00:  "They've closed the street where the flat in Brakpan is,  because the community wants to burn the flat down, saying family knew! #brakpanmurder

  • Mother: 'we must stop these terrible things from happening to innocent babies'

     PretoriusJasmineBeeldStoryDec302013

The journalists tweeted from the courtroom that the suspect wore a cream-coloured jacket and that its back was covered in blood-stains; his face reportedly bloodied and bruised. When he was asked by the residing magistrate what had happened to him, he replied in Afrikaans: "I fell down'.  The young uncle stood head-down in the dock while the murdered girl's mom, Sasha Lee Bam,  stared straight ahead of her, not looking at her ex-PretoriusJasmineLee4FoundMurderedAnnouncedPinkLadies29Dec7amhusband's brother.

She was quoted in a newspaper interview a day earlier that she seeks justice for Jasmine. "My little angel touched the world. Everyone must hear her story and we must stop these terrible things from happening to innocent babies'.

This is the information currently known about the circumstances surrounding Jasmine's death:

Jasmine and her six-year-old sister were visiting with their dad Morné Pretorius. Their pregnant mother, recently divorced, remained at her own home. The two little Pretorius girls were left in the care of the grandmother, the uncle, and accused Sarel Pretorius' male boyfriend. The father had gone out to drink with his new girlfriend and did not return until the next morning. It was  the 'boyfriend' who reported on Saturday-morning at 07h00 that Jasmin was missing.

  • "Jasmine has been found under my boyfriend's bed...'
  • When the alert went out over the Afrikaans-language social media site the Boere Crisis Action group (73,000+ members on Facebook), the child's father Morné was called and returned home to his flat.

Amidst hundreds of twitter-messages which included many rumours about 'the uncle having sold her to Nigerian kidnap gangs', the search went on until 7pm. The uncle apparently was the main suspect from the start: the SAPS kept questioning him and all the other household members throughout the day, while the search went on.

The uncle remained adamant throughout the entire day that  he did not know Jasmine's whereabouts - and the grandmother also told the police she didn't know. Jasmine's mother confirmed to the news media that Jasmine was sleeping in her father's bed alone - and that her six-year-old sister was sleeping with their grandmother before the girl went missing. The father did not come back until the next morning when the alarm was raised.

The massive search was launched from 7am by the South African Police Services, coordinating a large number of volunteers from the Afrikaner community organized by the security-group Eblockwatch, the facebook group Boere Krisis Aksie and the grandfather's religious ministry's members.

It was reported that the SAPS detectives were still questioning Sarel Pretorius when he reportedly 'collapsed and confessed that he had strangled little Jasmin and hid her beneath his mattress."

SA's huge TB-infection pool targets of top test-labs

In a promising Swedish study, sixteen of the 30 MDR-TB trial-patients, treated with  their own bone-marrow stem cells together with the usual tuberculosis-antibiotics,  were cured of multi-drug resistant TB - the bacterial disease now has a mortality rate of up to 80% in patients treated with antibiotic-TB drugs.

New hope for South Africa's many hundreds of thousands of TB-sufferers:

This new Swedish study holds out new hope for South Africa's many hundreds of thousands of drug-resistant Tuberculosis sufferers.  Highly infectious active-TB infections only turned into an epidemic  in South Africa after the end of apartheid from 1992 - especially after ex-president Thabo Mbeki 'decentralised'  many of the apartheid-era's string of preventative TB hospitals except in the Western Cape -- and  plundered the SA National Tuberculosis Association's privately-donated funds, saying the money was needed elsewhere. Today, South Africa has the highest level of drug-resistant Tuberculosis in the world.  People especially in poor communities now are reportedly dying without anyone knowing exactly why.

With such a huge infected population pool, South Africa has also become the world's main laboratory to test out new TB and AIDS-drugs for researchers worldwide...

  • "A second study now needs to be conducted urgently such as in South Africa, where MDR-TB and XDR-TB are rife", says Swedish head of study Prof Markus Maeurer...

January 10, 2014 -- Stockholm, Sweden. The findings of a phase 1 preliminary study published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicinesuggest that a patient’s own bone-marrow stromal ('stem') cells could be used to successfully treat multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB) and extensively-drug (XDR) tuberculosis.

Sixteen of the Swedish-funded study's 30 patients who were treated with tjheir own bone-marrow stem cells (MSCs) were deemed cured after 18 months -- as compared with only 5 of 30 TB patients surviving multiple-drug-resistent tuberculosis if left untreated.

  • The world health organization (conservatively) estimates that at least 450,000 people in South Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe have MDR-TB.

The study's co-author Professor Alimuddin Zumla from University College London, UK says: "The results of this novel and exciting study show that the current challenges and difficulties of treating MDR-TB are not insurmountable. They bring a unique opportunity with a fresh solution to treat hundreds of thousands of people who die unnecessarily of drug-resistant TB. Further evaluation in phase 2 trials is now urgently required to ascertain efficacy and further safety in different geographical regions such as South Africa where MDR-TB and XDR-TB are rife.”

' Poor understanding of pathological immunity in human tuberculosis: '

Prof Robert J Wilkinson from Imperial College London, after first describing the long history of adjunctive immunotherapy against TB, concluded:"This field is…complex with an underlying problem being a relatively poor understanding of what constitutes protective and pathological immunity in human tuberculosis or even whether these are precisely separable. Nevertheless, the potential to investigate an increasing range of more specific biological therapies or the repurposing of existing anti-inflammatory agents continues to attract interest. Whether relatively complex and expensive MSC therapy will join this list remains to be determined.”

Research was led by Prof Markus Maeurer from Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden

“Conventional treatment for MDR-TB uses a combination of TB drugs (antibiotics) which are harmful (toxic) to patients. Our new approach, using the patients’ own bone-marrow stromal (stem) cells,  is safe and could help overcome the body’s excessive inflammatory response, repair and regenerate inflammation-induced damage to lung tissue, and lead to improved cure rates”, explains Professor Markus Maeurer from Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden who led the research.

The World Health Organization believes that at least 450,000 people in Eastern Europe, Asia and South Africa have MDR-TB.  The bacteria trigger an inflammatory response in immune cells and surrounding lung tissue that cause immune dysfunction and tissue damage.

It is known from other studies that bone-marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are known to migrate to areas of lung injury and inflammation and repair damaged tissue.   They also modify the body’s immune response and could boost the clearance of TB bacteria.

In this phase 1 safety study, 30 patients with MDR or XDR TB aged 21–65 years old receiving standard TB antibiotic treatment were also given an infusion of around 10 million of their own stromal cells. The cells were obtained from the patient’s own bone marrow, then cultured into large numbers in the laboratory before being re-transfused into the same patient.

MSC infusion was generally safe and well tolerated. During the 6 months follow-up, no serious adverse events were recorded.  The most common grade 1 or 2 adverse events were high cholesterol levels (14 of 30 patients), nausea (11 patients), and lymphopenia or diarrhoea (10 patients).

  • Analyses showed 16 patients treated with MSCs were deemed cured at 18 months -- compared with only 5 of 30 TB patients with similar disease not treated with MSCs.

Professor Maeurer said longer follow up with more patients is needed to establish the safety and efficacy of MSC therapy.

  • “The procedures for obtaining stromal cells from the patient’s own bone marrow are relatively simple, and if successful in phase 2 trials, will provide a viable adjunctive therapy for patients with MDR-TB not responding to conventional drug treatment or those with severe lung damage", he concludes.

Decentralizing MDR-TB treatment by 2013: Nearly half of diagnosed drug-resistant TB cases are not started on treatment; and infected patients have to wait up to 2 months for admission, long distance of transportation for admission and follow up; Negative impact on social and economic status of the individual and family due to a long stay in hospital; Risk of spreading TB among other hospital patients due to inadequate implementation of infection control measures; Non-uniformity in current, sporadic efforts of decentralized management; Issues of refusal to admission and aggressive demand for early discharge; Poor survival rates of DR TB cases. Report by:

Mbeki plunders SANTA TB funds, closes down many TB prevention hospitals:

XDR-TB was first widely publicised following the report of an outbreak in South Africa in 2006.

  • 53 patients in a rural hospital in Tugela Ferry were found to have XDR-TB of whom 52 died within 16 days.[11] The median survival from sputum specimen collection to death was only 16 days and that the majority of patients had never previously received treatment for tuberculosis suggesting that they had been newly infected by XDR-TB strains, and that resistance did not develop during treatment.[11]
  • This was the first epidemic for which the acronym XDR-TB was used, and although TB strains that fulfill the current definition have been identified retrospectively,[12][13] this was the largest group of linked cases ever found.
  • Since the initial report in September 2006, cases have now been reported in most provinces in South Africa by 2007.As of 16 March 2007, there were 314 cases reported, with 215 deaths.[14]
  • It is clear that the spread of this strain of TB is closely associated with a high prevalence of HIV and poor infection control;in other countries where XDR-TB strains have arisen, drug resistance has arisen from mismanagement of cases or poor patient compliance with drug treatment instead of being transmitted from person to person.[15] It is now clear that the problem is far more extensive.[16]  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensively_drug-resistant_tuberculosis

It just announced that it shuts down its South African factory at the end of April.  92 people in Wadeville will lose their jobs. The company basically blames the ANC-regime's taxation policies and its high export-transport costs for taking its plant out of South Africa.

At the moment South Africa's catalytic converter factories already produce half of what they did twenty+ years ago -- when the previous government's  incentives kick-started a multi-billion Rand local manufacturing industry employing 5,200 highly-skilled people...

  •   Putting the plants near the platinum mines seemed so very logical: South Africa has about 75% of the world’s platinum-group metals required for making catalytic converters - and also (still) is  the world’s largest producer of platinum, with Russia second.

Yet despite the fact that the SA catalytic converter industries are sitting right on top of all this incredibly wealthy potential platinum resource - the country's catalytic converter industry is dying (under the current regime), warns National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers ' executive director Robert Houdet.

The link between platinum metals and catalytic converters:

A catalytic converter  requires platinum and similar metals - it's a device incorporated into a vehicle’s exhaust system, containing a catalyst for converting pollutant gases into less harmful ones. It makes use of platinum-group metals (the sonamed PGMs).

The Magneti Marelli company employed 92 people in Wadeville.  Engineering News Online was told by its general manager Claudio Di Martina on February 18 2014 that the facility was closing down by the end of April because 'the SA company is not competitive enough to receive any more export contracts from Europe”.

And it was entirely the fault of the South African government:

--  Said Di Martina: "Magneti Marelli South Africa found itself unable to compete  under the SA government’s new Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP), implemented in 2013. The new rebate system had disadvantages for us, and for the rest of the catalytic converter industry too, I believe.”  Di Martina says it is largely vehicle manufacturers that benefit from the APDP, and not the component industry.

I couldn't even cover my export transport costs...some of the world's highest. And Europe is nervous about that seven-week-long strike... '

“I couldn’t even cover my export transport costs.” Di Martina adds that South Africa’s logistics and transport costs are “some of the highest in the world”.

  • He notes that last year’s seven-week strike in the automotive industry also made “Europeans nervous about the stability of the South African economy”:  “The exchange rate is favourable for exports,” he adds, “but not for material imports”. The Rand has weakened sharply against the major currencies over the last six months. http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/topic/claudio-di-martina

"Catalytic Converter industry in SA is dying," - warns top executive of the national association of automotive component and allied manufacturers,  Robert Houdet.

The total catalytic converter exports from South Africa dropped from R19.6-billion in 2011 (almost 50% of all component exports) to R16.3-billion in 2012. Catalytic converters remained South Africa’s number one component export in 2012.  In 2008 at its peak, the local industry earned R24.3-billion. It employed around 5,200 people. South Africa has about 75% of the world’s platinum-group of metals reserve: it's the world’s largest producer of platinum, with Russia second. Yet despite these riches, the local catalytic converter industry is dying, says National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (Naacam) executive director Robert Houdet.

“The APDP (the government's kick-back system) cannot ensure its sustainability. We need to take it out of the APDP and go the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) to try and set up a programme for catalytic converter manufacturers - one where they can benefit from the fact that they beneficiate PGMs.”

  • (Non-ANC-speak:  The catalytic converter companies use platinum products from local mines).

Former Naacam executive director Roger Pitot said in 2012 that the benefits offered to local component manufacturers would be lower under the APDP than under the previous government's MIDP programme. He also noted at the time that 'some global vehicle manufacturers had not renewed their contracts for the supply of catalytic converters from South Africa. "

It takes three years to kick-start a new catalytic converter plant:

Finding a solution to the lack of global competitiveness of the catalytic converter industry “is a matter of urgency,” says Houdet. The decision to set up a catalytic converter plant is taken around three years in advance.

  • “For production of catalytic converters to still take place in South Africa three years from now, we need to be able to make a competitive offer right now, otherwise we will lose out. We have to move fast, and make sure we change people’s minds, because they are already ruling South Africa out as a possible manufacturing destination.”

So adding a new tax for 'manufacturing' platinum metals will make it better?

"To ensure the survival of the catalytic converter industry"-  Houdet proposes that "government charges a production tax on all PGMs produced in South Africa." He uses the following flawless logic:

  • “Nobody says we cannot increase our prices. The mining company can add the tax as an item on the invoice when charging their customers. The Middle East had similar policies when they controlled the world’s oil resources in the 1970s and Mozambique is mulling increasing its coal royalty tax. Everyone is doing it.
  • “We have platinum. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and government must have the courage to implement this tax.
  • “The production tax will serve as an incentive to manufacture catalytic converters in South Africa, as local manufacturers could either receive a tax rebate, or see the tax eliminated through some local value-add formula”.

Houdet also was quoted as saying that the catalytic converter industry "would ask for only a small part of the production tax, with the rest going to the SA treasury: we need to make this the cheapest place to produce catalytic converters. Such a move would also benefit the stainless steel industry.”

The government official statement:

The catalytic converter industry in South Africa developed predominantly on the back of the previous government's Department of Trade and Industry’s MIDP incentive scheme -  which was discontinued in 2013, says the Department's ' automotive chief director ' Mkhululi Mlota. "This is because government’s financial incentive for exported production was based predominantly on the value of local content, including material. This meant the relatively high platinum value found within a converter provided a high level of reward compared with the level of actual manufacturing value-add", explains Mlota.

For the Greater Unwashed Masses who are not privy to the intricacies of ANC-speak, we translate:

  • (In non-ANC speak: Platinum is a very expensive metal and the SA regime is now taxing the exported catalytic convertors based on the market value of the precious metal inside --- instead of taxing the value of the actual finished product converters are being sold at... )

During the roughly two decades of the previous government's MIDP rebate-system, the South African catalytic converter sector peaked at around 16% of global production.

The government official said the current system is being re-analysed - at least we thínk that's what he may have said - anyhow this is how he put it to Engineering News - clear as mud:

  • "The dynamics examined will include vulnerable sectors, and the implications for any changes to their circumstances. “Further, other, cross-governmental, non-APDP support measures need to be explored, especially in terms of the supply-side factors faced by catalytic converter producers. Under present material cost conditions, there is no geographic benefit to beneficiating platinum close to its source.”

The fine art of recognizing Communist Party propaganda

In October 2013 one of SA's top communist party executives, the country's disastrous Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies, was quoted as saying that their system of APDP, implemented on January 1, 2013, and running until 2020, "would be the subject of an early review, and that: "... the aim of the early review would be to “create conditions of confidence” for the automotive industry in South Africa. "We are all committed to work together to ensure our industry has a bright future.”

  • Indeed, the fine art of recognizing Davies' communist party sloganeering is crucial to the survival of private businesses and foreign investors  in South Africa. It's a minefield of disinformation.

Some industry-captains say that Magneti Marelli 's closing down isn't all that important anyway: for instance the catalytic converter interest group's executive Ken Dewar:  'it is a smaller player in the South African catalytic converter industry and now some of the bigger players are getting new contracts."  General Motors South Africa, in partnership with component manufacturer Tenneco South Africa, last year clinched a R6-billion contract to export catalytic converters to North America.

  • "However this said...' Dewar added, he 'knows of yet another manufacturer “potentially closing down” and then adding:  “We have seen the benefits to the industry shrink under the MIDP, and they continue to do so under the APDP.”  Dewar says the CCIG would like government to put this decline in benefits on hold.  If not, our industry will die.”

More ANC-speak -- but the bottom line is that a lot of SA manufacturers of catalytic converters now produce 50% of what they did when it was kick-started some twenty+ years ago...

A new proposal  is now headed to the DMR, DTI and the SA Cabinet, Dewar was quoted as telling Engineering News.

  • "We can double or triple the amount of PGMs we beneficiate if we can receive more benefits, such as through a production tax,” says Dewar. “No other industry in South Africa beneficiate PGMs. The South African catalytic converter industry produces 10-million converters a year.  We do not expect to do more in 2014.

At the current rate we see the industry declining by 5% a year over the next three to four years,” says Dewar. “A lot of the manufacturers are currently working at 50% capacity.”

Free State agricultural towns under siege by 3,000-strong group of black militant gangs with petrol-bombs

Bloemhof: April 14 2014 – Deon Beukes writes: “Thousands of young terrorists who learn and regroup after each attack: and now they are burning all the towns around Bloemhof: report on Boere Krisis Aksie: April 12 2014: "My name is Deon Beukes and I belong to the community of Bloemhof. On Monday- and Tuesday we had to go and defend ourselves as a community to prevent our town from being attacked and plundered. Fortunately our neighbourhood watch was reinforced some eight months earlier with radios, nightvision and thermal imaging goggles. The SAPS were unable to defend themselves on Monday and Tuesday against the masses because the police were too few. At one stage we even had to lend them our shotgun-cartridges...

By Wednesday we were reinforced from as far away as Kathu with about 300 bakkies and men. Our community watch is not politically-driven. We merely acted to protect property irregardless of the political affiliations of the persons who need protecting. These black people had by that time already torched everything in the black neighbourhood and all the intelligence and information we received was that they were marching to attack our town. And this turned out to be correct because they tried three, four times to get into town with a force of about 3,000 people. They behaved in a militant manner - striking us at one place, withdrawing and then striking at us again at another site.

We sat and watched them from the GOS and were able to redeploy our men wherever they were needed. The attackers' main goal was to break into shops and loot them and to torch other buildings in town. We stood fast and stopped this. On Wednesday-night an SAPS-general arrived and ordered us to stand back. We agreed to do this in return for her bringing in reinforcements. After that we understand pretty much all of North West province's riot police were deplayed in our area. Our information is that the masses plan to 'burn the towns around us so that the police will be split up, because the attackers 'want to take Bloemhof'. So the burning around our town has started: Wollies, Makwassie, Hoopstad, Schwezer-Reineke, Hertzogville and Christiana. I tried to lodge a charge of terrorism against this large group of aggressors but I cannot find any lawyer with backbone to do so. I believe that if we can get such a charge lodged, we could turn this thing around. Please help us with advice and even with an attorney will to help us. We need your help. You don't see one-tenth of what is going on on the news. These terrorists are constantly learning from each terror attack and demonstration they engage in. They adapt, take it on board, plan and re-deploy after every 'operation'.

We are of the opinion that they soon will start using the advantage of surprise attacks to try and attack a town and plunder it. We should soon see that attack-groups will no longer regroup outside the towns and then start their riots, but that they will rather regroup inside each town they want to attack, quietly, and then spread into townships and raise amok. This tactic of using violent masses of people is being adapted every day. We are monitoring this process and will keep you informed."

‘Suspended’ SAPS-chief Bheki Cele incites black militants to 'invade rich suburbs '

CeleBekiUrgesBlacksToInvadeRichSuburbsApril 14 2014 - The Boere Krisis Aksie group has placed a warning about incitements allegedly made by former SAPS chief Bheke Cele in Philippi near Cape Town  recently --  in which the now suspended former police boss had incited people in a speech he made in Xhosa, "to invade rich neighbourhoods to 'protest against service delivery'. BKA warns that whites must heed such warning signs even if Bheki now has 'denied' he ever said it.... "Be aware, protect yourselves and make certain you are linked in (security networks),' writes BKA: " When former police chief Bheki Cele - who was in charge of the South African Police Service and was 'suspended for corruptio' -- makes such statements (which he later denied) we must all be aware of such danger signals. Is this the silence before the storm? Is this a test run (*example: Bloemhof, where some 3,000 black youths armed with petrol-bombs tried their very best to invade the CBD...)

-- BACKGROUND: Bheki Cele (born 22 April 1952) was the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service until October 2011, when he was suspended from duty, due to allegations of corruption. He was appointed to this position in July 2009, replacing Jackie Selebi, who was suspended in January 2008 following charges of corruption. Previously he held the post of Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Transport, Safety and Security in KwaZulu-Natal. He is a member of the African National Congress.
"The board has found General Cele to be unfit for office and has recommended his removal from office in terms of the provisions of section 8(6)(b)(v) of the South African Police Service Act No. 68 of 1995," said Zuma.
Despite this, in November 2013, he was placed on the ANC's list of preferred candidates to go to parliament.
In January 2014, he attempted to delay the South African Public Protector's report on wasteful expenditure at Nkandla - President Jacob Zuma’s private homestead. Bheki Cele is under investigation, as evidence shows R1.7 billion rand spent on building leases were unlawful, improper and constituted maladministration. Though suspended, South African taxpayers spend at least R1.3-million a year on his salary.
It was Bheki Celi who reportedly encouraged the 'sewerage-protestors' in Cape Town to take their service-delivery protests into the city's ' rich suburbs'. He made the speech in Xhosa during a meeting at Phillipi. The remark was dropped aobut a month after the ANC had reinstated two suspended members Loyiso Nkohla and Andile Lili who had been reprimanded for inciting blacks: organising several marches during which loads of sewage were dumped in public places. Cele later denied he's ever made the comment. However he added in his denial that 'if portable toilets are good enough for certain communities, why can't they be good enough 'for all communities...'

Why are so many Afrikaners dying in squatter camps? And what can you do to help?

By Adriana Stuijt. April 7 2014 –  Ever since 1994, when the ANC-regime came to power, as a retired SA-Dutch journalist I’ve been keeping track of the Afrikaner people’s growing destitution – which is deliberately created by the ANC-regime’s more than 100 laws to bar ‘whites’ from the South African job market.

Following is a summary of this ongoing process of deliberate genocidal behaviour leading to the deaths of many Afrikaners as they drift into destitution.

Lately there have been a growing number of reports that Afrikaner people are dying of water-borne diseases such as cholera in these camps.  They are also dying of  other preventable communicable diseases such as TB – which during apartheid was kept so well under control that they had a 95% cure-rate. Many Afrikaners also die in fires in their squatter shacks because they have no access to electricity.  Many children also are maimed in such fires and have to spend the rest of their lives as crippled invalids.

Avoidable cholera-deaths in Afrikaner squatter camps reported:

CholeraDeathInBoerAfrikanerSquatterCampANCcouncilBlamedMar272014

This is the latest such incident – a (medically-confirmed) cholera death at one of the poor-white camps run by the Nehemiah project: The people at the Afrikaner Journal are trying to alleviate the problem and desperately need help – especially clean water systems and solar-powered appliances – to be installed in these camps. One may can contact them directly:  Voice: +27825236699 – (082 523 6699)  Fax: +27867184596 – (086 718 4596) and via:

Cholera deaths are avoidable with cheap clean-water system for families:

These cholera-deaths are totally unnecessary: they can be prevented by a simple device which cleans out 99% of all the harmful organisms from even the dirtiest drinking water: if any donors are willing to come forward to help the poor Afrikaner families with such life-saving, clean water devices it would be very helpful. ANC regime refuses clean-water reticulation to poor white communities:

For all this misery is ALL due to the deliberate neglect by the ANC-regime towards poor Afrikaners – they refuse to lay on the free municipal services to ‘ whites ‘’ , which they do always provide to poor black communities as soon as they have set up another little squatter camp anywhere – these camps get a set minimum quantity of municipal water and –electricity and ablution facilities which are being totally denied to the Afrikaner poor.   http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/2268

I refer to the ‘Afrikaner poor’ because surveys have found that in most of these little camps, more than 98 percent of all the camp-dwellers are Afrikaners. That’s why it’s also been mainly the Afrikaner cultural structures putting up a valiant fight –  in the courts and with hands-on help –  to try and stop this tsunami of Afrikaner poverty.  It’s conservatively estimated that at least 1million of the 3,4million Afrikaner people now live in dire poverty, many in these camps and in backyard shanties.

Ethnic cleansing of Afrikaners from the villages, towns and farms they’ve built:

People are being ethnically cleansed from traditional ‘Afrikaner’ areas and are forced to move to marginal sites –  which are moreover also encreasingly encroached upon by very aggressive, very demanding and very large black groups, often illegal foreigners from other African countries demanding free municipal services.

Bloemhof attacked by 3,000 well-organized terrorist petrol-bombing youths: black police officials order Afrikaner defenders to stand down:
in a new phase in the ethnic-cleansing campaign of Afrikaners, these past weeks from April 3 to April 15 2014, in a well-organized terrorist-style campaign, some 3,000 blacks waged a three-day mini-war against the residents and business people in the Free State agricultural  towns of Bloemhof & Christiana – and when Afrikaners grouped together and mounted a successful defence against the waves of petrol-bombing attackers, a black police general drove at high speed to Bloemhof and ordered the defenders of the town to stand down:

In 1994 there were about 20,000 whites living on government benefits due to in destitution – in 2014 at least 1million of the 3,4million Afrikaners and Boers have no homes, no jobs and no incomes…

Afriforum and Solidariteit and Helpende Hand have over the years all done wonderful work -  often financially supported by their trade-union members, mostly mineworkers, and by close-knit farming communities, to try and stop this headlong plunge into starvation and destitution.

Before 1994 there were about 20,000 ‘poor whites’ on the official records. Mostly with physical or mental disabilities who were drawing small pensions from the NP-government, and were staying in a low-cost group of well-tended flats in central Pretoria and similar social-housing sites in other cities as well. As a journalist I visited those flats in Pretoria many times. People there were ‘proud poor’- ashamed of their poverty, counting their pennies.  The building was guarded and the flats themselves were neat, clean and frequently inspected by the social welfare department to make certain things ran well there.  These flats also provided cheap housing for the nurses at the nearby hospitals and so it was a mix of empoverished poor people and nurses.  It worked.
Just after 1994, when Mandela’s terrorists came back from their violence-ridden refugee camps like Camp Quatro in Angola and were bombarded to government ministers, the very first thing this group of males did was to start tearing down those flats and the social-welfare structure which ran them so well. That apparently formed an integral part of their propaganda campaign whch claimed that ‘ nothing good which was ever  done by the apartheid-government”. So they set about destroying any contrary vidence to  ‘prove’ the contents of their propaganda.
  • Initially the local ANC-councillors and their social welfare Minister destroyed these flats by encouraging incursions of criminal gangs, mostly drug-dealers, who were setting up shop there and started dealing.
That’s always the best way to destroy any well-ordered community and it worked.  Today, the human-trafficking and the drug-gangs  run the streets of South Africa. In central Pretoria in 2014 -  there’s hardly any white residents left unless they stand begging on street corners.
These buildings themselves were eventually deliberately destroyed by a series of large fires. In the last fire which destroyed them, people with disabilities were plucked from rooftops by military and police helicopters to save their lives.  Those people were given no alternative housing by the Pretoria ANC-council: most of them ended up at the smallholdings of working-class Afrikaners, mostly mineworkers and government officials who used their old-age pensioners and their savings to buy these smallholdings.
Often these people were put up in Wendy Houses – little backyard ‘play cottages’ for children. Many moved to to Daspoort, where people put them up in tents and eventually in cottages:
    http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/892

Nobody ever thought that this would however become a permanent way of life – but that’s how these camps grew:  hundreds of thousands of well-educated Afrikaner workers were kicked out of government service due to the ANC’s ‘black economic empowerment’ laws. These are increasingly barring ‘whites’ from all permanent jobs.  This is a rout – a deliberate ethnic cleansing campaign by the ANC regime targeting Afrikaners in their traditional towns, hamlets, smallholdings, farms and cities all over South Africa. Whenever an Afrikaner community balks and objects at the Africanisation of their schools and the destruction of their Afrikaner cultural rights, the ANC propaganda machine jumps into full gear and accuses these tiny Afrikaner communities of ‘racism’.  It’s a campaign which has worked well for the ANC over the years.

Poor whites are still targeted by violent attacks from blacks in squatter camps -- even though they are dirt-poor

And even when these Afrikaner families move into a camp, they are not left alone: even though they are dirt-poor and starving, the murder-attacks continue.  The Afrikaner boys and girls are targetted by the large, organized ‘human-traffickers” gangs of black males who lay in wait and kidnap these youngsters — even from in front of their schools, sell them into sexual slavery and a brief life of deliberatel drug-addiction:

http://afrikaner-genocide-achives.blogspot.com/2010/01/katrina-hendrika-van-den-berg-65.html

http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/822

Political rights of Afrikaners in squatter camps:

And whenever there was an attempt by cultural organizations to organize the poor Afrikaners politically there was interference, not only from government officials screaming ‘racism’ and attacking these small communities physically such as at Kleinfontein  - http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/1029–  but also from the ‘traditional Afrikaner” political structures dating from before 1994.  Groups such as the Freedom Front Plus are  trying to hold on to their voters’ base and even made sure that exiled ‘whites’ would be allowed to vote at embassies overseas.  At the same time, to try and get more voters, they have also shifted towards the left, and tend to ‘overlook’ the suffering of their own people   - even giving them a new name: ‘Afrikaanses’.

The mass-migration into squatter camps also created the problem of re-registering each new voting-age adult at these squatter camps.  It’s not known how many Afrikaners have already been ethnically-cleansed off the voters’ rolls due to their migration from traditional Afrikaner areas to the white squatter camps but during this present election campaign there were renewed efforts to register them. One main problem: these Afrikaners are too poor to even afford identity documents which they need during registration and voting.

ANC knows ‘poor whites’  exist -- despite their denials:

The ANC in this  forthcoming presidential election in May, has even very cynically taken  poor Afrikaner squatter camp residents to their political meetings and promising them food-parcels and blankets if they sit in the front rows of election meetings and allow themselves to be photogrphed –  wearing ANC tshirts: However it was reported that none were given the promised life-saving food-parcels or blankets until Afrikaans news-media journalists raised a public row about it.
http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/994

On the Afrikaner Genocide blog alone, more than 50 articles appear about this subject alone, with pictures, sources and newspaper article citations.  One often sees extended  Afrikaner families relying on granddad and grandmom ‘s tiny pensions for their survival.   It’s a losing battle: the ANC also tries to ‘encourage’ poor ‘whites’ to move to black townships where their children will become  alienated from their own culture and ‘Africanized’.  How is this social experiment of forced integration working out?

Peruse the records and make up your own mind. If you know of any long-term ‘success stories’ of the Western Afrikaners integrating in ‘black’ communities –  please urgently let me know at a.j.stuijt@knid.nl

Lizzie van Zyl died of starvation and typhoid in the Bloemfontein concentration camp on 9 May 1901

VanZylLizzieBloemfonteinConcentrationCampVisitedByEmilyHobhouse1901

Above: Lizzie Van Zyl (1894 – 9 May 1901) was a child inmate of the Bloemfontein concentration camp who died from typhoid fever during the British scorched-earth war against the Boers in South Africa. The British incarcerated Lizzie van Zyl her in a concentration camp following the refusal of her father, a Boer combatant, to surrender. Activist Emily Hobhouse used her death as an example of the hardships the Boer women and children faced in the British concentration camps during the war. She describes Lizzie as "a frail, weak little child in desperate need of good care", who was placed on the lowest rations and, after a month, was moved to the new hospital about 50 kilometres away from the concentration camp, suffering from starvation. According to Hobhouse, she was treated harshly in the hospital. Unable to speak English, she was labelled an idiot by an English-speaking doctor and her nurses, who were unable to understand her. One day she started calling for her mother; a lady went over to comfort her, but "was brusquely interrupted by one of the nurses who told her not to interfere with the child as she was a nuisance.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Hobhouse

Emily Hobhouse:
When the Second Boer War broke out in South Africa in October 1899, a Liberal MP, Leonard Courtney, invited Hobhouse to become secretary of the women's branch of the South African Conciliation Committee, of which he was president. She wrote
"It was late in the summer of 1900 that I first learnt of the hundreds of Boer women that became impoverished and were left ragged by our military operations… the poor women who were being driven from pillar to post, needed protection and organized assistance.[3]
She founded the Distress Fund for South African Women and Children, and sailed for the Cape Colony on 7 December 1900 to supervise its distribution, and arrived on 27 December. She wrote later:
"I came quite naturally, in obedience to the feeling of unity or oneness of womanhood ... it is when the community is shaken to its foundations, that abysmal depths of privation call to each other and that a deeper unity of humanity evinces itself.[3]
When she left England, she only knew about the concentration camp at Port Elizabeth, but on arrival found out about the many other camps (45 in total). She had a letter of introduction to the British High Commissioner, Alfred Milner, from her aunt, the wife of Arthur Hobhouse, himself the son of Henry Hobhouse, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Home Office under Sir Robert Peel, and who knew Milner. From him she obtained the use of two railway trucks, subject to the approval of the army commander, Lord Kitchener, which she received two weeks later, although it only allowed her to travel as far as Bloemfontein and take one truck of supplies for the camps, about 12 tons.

Conditions in the camps: “To keep these camps going is murder to the children”:

She had persuaded the authorities to let her visit several camps and to deliver aid—her report on conditions at the camps, set out in a report entitled “Report of a Visit to the Camps of Women and Children in the Cape and Orange River Colonies”, was delivered to the British government in June 1901. As a result, a formal commission was set up and a team of official investigators headed by Millicent Fawcett was sent to inspect the camps. Overcrowding in bad unhygienic conditions due to neglect and lack of resources were the causes of a mortality rate that in the eighteen months during which the camps were in operation reached a total of 26,370 deaths (as recorded at that time: since then, many more mass-graves were found and modern-day historians now believe at least 40,000 Boer camp-inmates died). 24,000 of the concentration-camp inmates who died at the hands of British ‘negligence’ were children. The children were dying at the rate of some 50 a day.

The following extracts from the report by Emily Hobhouse make very clear the extent of culpable neglect by the authorities:
“ In some camps, two, and even three sets of people, occupy one tent and 10, and even 12, persons are frequently herded together in tents of which the cubic capacity is about 500 c.f.
I call this camp system a wholesale cruelty… To keep these Camps going is murder to the children.
It can never be wiped out of the memories of the people. It presses hardest on the children. They droop in the terrible heat, and with the insufficient unsuitable food; whatever you do, whatever the authorities do, and they are, I believe, doing their best with very limited means, it is all only a miserable patch on a great ill. Thousands, physically unfit, are placed in conditions of life which they have not strength to endure. In front of them is blank ruin… If only the English people would try to exercise a little imagination –picture the whole miserable scene. Entire villages rooted up and dumped in a strange, bare place.
The women are wonderful. They cry very little and never complain. The very magnitude of their sufferings, their indignities, loss and anxiety seems to lift them beyond tears… only when it cuts afresh at them through their children do their feelings flash out.
Some people in town still assert that the Camp is a haven of bliss. I was at the camp to-day, and just in one little corner this is the sort of thing I found – The nurse, underfed and overworked, just sinking on to her bed, hardly able to hold herself up, after coping with some thirty typhoid and other patients, with only the untrained help of two Boer girls–cooking as well as nursing to do herself. Next tent, a six months' baby gasping its life out on is mother's knee. Two or three others drooping sick in that tent.
Next, a girl of twenty-one lay dying on a stretcher. The father, a big, gentle Boer kneeling beside her; while, next tent, his wife was watching a child of six, also dying, and one of about five drooping. Already this couple had lost three children in the hospital and so would not let these go, though I begged hard to take them out of the hot tent. I can't describe what it is to see these children lying about in a state of collapse. It’s just exactly like faded flowers thrown away. And one has to stand and look on at such misery, and be able to do almost nothing.
It was a splendid child and it dwindled to skin and bone ... The baby had got so weak it was past recovery. We tried what we could but today it died. It was only 3 months but such a sweet little thing… It was still alive this morning; when I called in the afternoon they beckoned me in to see the tiny thing laid out, with a white flower in its wee hand. To me it seemed a “murdered innocent”. And an hour or two after another child died. Another child had died in the night, and I found all three little corpses being photographed for the absent fathers to see some day. Two little wee white coffins at the gate waiting, and a third wanted. I was glad to see them, for at Springfontein, a young woman had to be buried in a sack, and it hurt their feelings woefully.
It is such a curious position, hollow and rotten to the heart’s core, to have made all over the State large uncomfortable communities of people whom you call refugees and say you are protecting, but who call themselves prisoners of war, compulsorily detained, and detesting your protection. They are tired of being told by officers that they are refugees under “the kind and beneficient protection of the British”. In most cases there is no pretence that there was treachery, or ammunition concealed, or food given or anything. It was just that an order was given to empty the country. Though the camps are called refugee, there are in reality a very few of these–perhaps only half-a-dozen in some camps. It is easy to tell them, because they are put in the best marquees, and have had time given to them to bring furniture and clothes, and are mostly self-satisfied and vastly superior people. Very few, if any of them, are in want.
Those who are suffering most keenly, and who have lost most, either of their children by death or their possessions by fire and sword, such as those reconcentrated women in the camps, have the most conspicuous patience, and never express a wish that their men should be the ones to give way. It must be fought out now, they think, to the bitter end. It is a very costly business upon which England has embarked, and even at such a cost hardly the barest necessities can be provided, and no comforts.

  • It is so strange to think that every tent contains a family, and every family is in trouble–loss behind, poverty in front, sickness, privation and death in the present. But they are very good, and say they have agreed to be cheerful and make the best of it all. The Mafeking camp folk were very surprised to hear that English women cared a rap about them or their suffering. It has done them a lot of good to hear that real sympathy is felt for them at home, and so I am glad I fought my way here, if only for that reason.

Imagine the heat outside the tents and the suffocation inside! ...the sun blazed through the single canvas, and the flies lay thick and black on everything; no chair, no table, nor any room for such; only a deal box, standing on its end, served as a wee pantry. In this tent live Mrs B's five children (three quite grown up) and a little Kaffir servant girl. Many tents have more occupants. Mrs M. ...has six children in camp, all ill, two in the tin hospital with typhoid, and four sick in the tent. A terrible evil just now is the dew. It is so heavy, and comes through the single canvas of the tents, wetting everything… All the morning the gangways are filled with the blankets and odds and ends, regularly turned out to dry in the sun. The doctor told me today he highly disapproved of tents for young children, and expected a high mortality before June.
Hygiene
Soap has been unattainable and none given in the rations. With much persuasion, and weeks after requisitioning, soap is now given occasionally in very minute quantities–certainly not enough for clothes and personal washing.
We have much typhoid and are dreading an outbreak, so I am directing my energies to getting the water of the Modder River boiled. As well swallow typhoid germs whole as drink that water–so say doctors.
Yet they cannot boil it all, for – first, fuel is very scarce; that which is supplied weekly would not cook a meal a day…and they have to search the already bare kopjes for a supply. There is hardly a bit to be had. Second, they have no extra utensil to hold the water when boiled. I propose, therefore, to give each tent a pail or crock, and get a proclamation issued that all drinking water must be boiled.

The "cruel system"
Above all one would hope that the good sense, if not the mercy, of the English people, will cry out against the further development of this cruel system which falls with crushing effect upon the old, the weak, and the children. May they stay the order to bring in more and yet more. Since Old Testament days was ever a whole nation carried captive?
Late in 1901 the camps ceased to receive new families and conditions improved in some camps; but the damage was done. Historian Thomas Pakenham writes of Kitchener's policy turn:
No doubt the continued 'hullabaloo' at the death-rate in these concentration camps, and Milner's belated agreement to take over their administration, helped changed K's mind [some time at the end of 1901]. By mid-December at any rate, Kitchener was already circulating all column commanders with instructions not to bring in women and children when they cleared the country, but to leave them with the guerrillas... Viewed as a gesture to Liberals, on the eve of the new session of Parliament at Westminster, it was a shrewd political move. It also made excellent military sense, as it greatly handicapped the guerrillas, now that the drives were in full swing... It was effective precisely because, contrary to the Liberals' convictions, it was less humane than bringing them into camps, though this was of no great concern to Kitchener.
Charles Aked, a Baptist minister in Liverpool, said on 22 December 1901, Peace Sunday: "Great Britain cannot win the battles without resorting to the last despicable cowardice of the most loathsome cur on earth—the act of striking a brave man's heart through his wife's honour and his child's life. The cowardly war has been conducted by methods of barbarism... the concentration camps have been Murder Camps."[4] Afterwards, a crowd followed him home and broke the windows of his house.[4]

Bloemfontein Concentration Camp
Hobhouse arrived at the camp at Bloemfontein on 24 January 1901 and was shocked by the conditions she encountered:
"They went to sleep without any provision having been made for them and without anything to eat or to drink. I saw crowds of them along railway lines in bitterly cold weather, in pouring rain–hungry, sick, dying and dead. Soap was not dispensed. The water supply was inadequate. No bedstead or mattress was procurable. Fuel was scarce and had to be collected from the green bushes on the opes of the kopjes (small hills) by the people themselves. The rations were extremely meagre and when, as I frequently experienced, the actual quantity dispensed fell short of the amount prescribed, it simply meant famine."[3]

Lizzie van Zyl, visited by Emily Hobhouse in the Bloemfontein concentration camp
What most distressed Hobhouse was the sufferings of the undernourished children. Diseases such as measles, bronchitis, pneumonia, dysentery and typhoid had invaded the camp with fatal results. The very few tents were not enough to house the one or more sick persons, most of them children. In the collection Stemme uit die Verlede (Voices from the Past), she recalled the plight of Lizzie van Zyl (c. 1894 – 9 May 1901), the daughter of a Boer combatant who refused to surrender. The girl died at the Bloemfontein camp. According to Hobhouse, the girl was treated harshly and placed on the lowest rations.[why?] After a month, she was moved to the new hospital about 50 kilometres away from the concentration camp, suffering from starvation. Unable to speak English, she was labelled an "idiot" by the hospital staff, who were unable to understand her. One day she started calling for her mother. An Afrikaner woman, Mrs Botha, went over to comfort her and to tell her she would see her mother again, but "was brusquely interrupted by one of the nurses who told her not to interfere with the child as she was a nuisance."[5][6][7]
When Hobhouse requested soap for the people, she was told that soap was a luxury. She nevertheless succeeded, after a struggle, to have it listed as a necessity, together with straw, more tents and more kettles in which to boil the drinking water. She distributed clothes and supplied pregnant women, who had to sleep on the ground, with mattresses, but she could not forgive what she called
"Crass male ignorance, helplessness and muddling… I rub as much salt into the sore places in their minds… because it is good for them; but I can't help melting a little when they are very humble and confess that the whole thing is a grievous and gigantic blunder and presents almost insoluble problems, and they don't know how to face it…"[3]
Hobhouse also visited camps at Norvalspont, Aliwal North, Springfontein, Kimberley and Orange River.

Fawcett Commission
When Hobhouse returned to England she received scathing criticism and hostility from the British government and many of the media, but eventually succeeded in obtaining more funding to help the victims of the war. The British Liberal leader at the time, Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, denounced what he called the "methods of barbarism". The British government eventually agreed to set up the Fawcett Commission to investigate her claims, under Millicent Fawcett, which corroborated her account of the shocking conditions. Hobhouse returned to Cape Town in October 1901, was not permitted to land and eventually deported five days after arriving, no reason being given. She then went to France where she wrote the book The Brunt of the War and Where it Fell on what she saw during the war.[citation needed]
She visited South Africa again in 1903. She decided to set up Boer home industries and to teach young women spinning and weaving when she returned once more in 1905. Ill health, from which she never recovered, forced her to return to England in 1908. She traveled to South Africa again in 1913 for the inauguration of the National Women's Monument in Bloemfontein but had to stop at Beaufort West due to her failing health.

Murders of white farmers in South Africa still increasing:

After the @Afriforum human rights watchdog in SouthAfrica handed their latest archived farm Attack statistics to the President's office in 2017, Afriforum spokesman @ErnstRoets wrote his 2019 Amazon best-seller  "Kill The Boer"   - which records evidence of the ruling government's complicity in the ongoing attacks against the white farmers in the country.

Farm Murders for 2016/2017 show dramatic increase in frequency and deadliness of farm attacks and farm murders in South Africa -- Afriforum Research Institute warns.

The independent human-rights watchdog group Afriforum 's Research Institute has released its annual 2016/2017 archives - and handed over their findings to the office of the President in Pretoria on 26 April 2017.

     View the report here:
    https://www.afriforum.co.za/wp-content/uploads/Report-Farm-attacks-and-farm-murders-in-South-Africa1.pdf

The research institute's lawyers and branch managers archive details of crime scenes of farm-attacks and farm-murders shortly after they  occurred,  Their Crime Analyst Lorraine Claasen revealed that the verified farm attacks for the 2016/2017 period were 357-  and 74 white farmers were murdered by black people during the 2016/17 year.
"If this attack frequency rate continues, the 2017/8 financial year 's death- and attack-rates will be even higher."
The original number of white farmers were 85,00+ before 1994. Now only 35,000 white farmers raise crops for the entire population of 65-million South Africans on less than 0,5% of the entire land-surface of the country.
Lorraine Claasen pointed out that there has been increased international scrutiny and concern -"especially after  citizens of Britain and the Netherlands  were among the recent victims of these inexpplicable, organised attacks, invariably by black people.
And she also warned that the 2017-18 financial year showed worrying signs of another increase of these attacks: "If the frequency of thse  farm-attacks and farm-murders remain the same throughout the 2017 calendar year,
it would seem that the numbers would again increase. To date thus far this year, there have been 113 attacks and 29 white farmers verified murdered in these attacks."
Claasen adds that it is of utmost importance that all people in rural areas increase their security. AfriForum encourages communities to become involved with security networks in their area.
She added:  “It is essential to make it as difficult as possible for attackers to gain access to dwellings as the families and employees of these farmers also are in great danger".
She urged  victims and/or family of victims of farm attacks to immediately report incidents at stopdiemoorde@afriforum.co.za or stopthemurders@afriforum.co.za so that Afriforum can archive these at once.
They are archived for a specific purpose: namely to have an independent watchdog also archiving these attacks so that they can be compared to the  understated annual crime statistics reports of the South African Police
Service (SAPS) which since 2006, no longer archive the Farm Attacks and Farm Murders seperately from their crime statistics.

In 2017, the independent civil-rights watchdog @Afriforum's Research Institute published its 2016/2017 report of verified #FarmAttacks and #FarmMurders on white farmers by black attackers.
Their Crime Analyst Lorraine Claassen revealed that the 2016/2017 statistics were 357 attacks in which74 white farmers were murdered.

Ruling African National Congress party secretary general:

"Black people now are smarter than white people: Black pupils are excelling in maths and science'. He also called for their former ANC-youth league leader Julius Malema to return to the fold:

Report by Ngwako Modjadji 20190426
27 April 2019 - "The secretary-general of the ruling African National Congress party-alliance of South Africa, Ace Magashule, "revealed that the party wants EFF leader Julius Malema to return to the divided organisation.
“I love Julius. I am talking to him to return home,” Magashule said. He said Malema must come back to the ANC with his supporters. Magashule, who was flanked by national executive committee members Dakota Legoete and Obed Bapela, Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans’ Association spokesman Carl Niehaus and provincial leaders such as Kenetswe Mosenogi, told ANC supporters while on the campaign trail in Ikageng township, in Tlokwe, North West today that he “loves” Malema.
This week, Malema also said the EFF would consider coalition talks with the ANC after the May 8 general elections.
In 2012, Malema was expelled from his position as ANC Youth League president, as well as from the party, for sowing divisions and bringing the party into disrepute."
Magashule said "black people were now smarter than white people. He said black pupils had proven former National Party leader Hendrik Verwoerd wrong by excelling in maths and science.
Verwoerd is crazy wherever he is. If we teach our children correctly, everything will be fine.”
He said he wanted to see a lot of engineering and economics graduates.
